| Rich and Becky came up from Susanville for our annual Helvetia half. For the first time ever, we finished together although he was officially one second ahead of me. It is a very hilly course. My preparation was inconsistent as my finish time showed. As ye sow, so shall ye reap. Despite the meager harvest, it was fun to see Rich and to go out to dinner with our wives on Friday night. My sub 2 hour half remains elusive, but I know why. Consistency, consistency, consistency...

| 3 miles in the morning on the TM at 9:13 pace while watching a dvd of the Runnin' Utes beating Alabama in the 2007 sugar bowl. 2 easy miles with my 12 year old daughter in the evening. She loves to run! She tried to out kick me at the end but I stayed right on her hip all the way to the finish line (our mailbox). I think she was pretty shocked.

Out and back from our house to BCreek. 1 Easy 1 at 8:58 1.1 Easy (couldn't resist making it an even 5k)
My 12 year old daughter ran the first mile with me and then turned around at the 1 mile point and ran back to give her a total of 2 miles. We had a nice conversation. I had never thought of running as a way to build/strengthen my relationships with my kids but it is sure turning out that way with her.
