Long May You Run

5.15 am miles 47:41  9:16 pace.  this wind was not bad at all near downtown Salt Lake.  I'm feeling very tired and beat up. 

7.1 pm miles 1:04:54  9:08 ave, B street route.  Feeling tired, when I'm +9 minutes for my miles I'm one tired boy.  Keep on pounding!

Watched a show on T.V. tonight about Boston gangsters.  During the show there was a lot of Boston scenery.  I miss Boston.  I will be back.  It's a money thing. 

8 miles out and back from home.  1:09:30  8:41 ave.  Achilles tendons very sore.  Sunshine, cool temp.

7.1 miles after work.  8:47 ave 1:02:19 total time.  B Street route.  Mondays are a drag, once I got a mile or two into this run I started to feel pretty good.  I'm happy to be home, warm and safe.

I ran past the UTA bus that crashed on B Street.  It crashed a minute or two before I ran by.  That would have been a heck of a freaky sight to see that bus barreling down B street backwards.  When I ran by I couldn't figure out what happened but it was clear that the bus rolled backward down the street based on the destruction and skid marks.

4.65 pm miles 39:39  8:32 ave  because of this morning, I decided to take it easy tonight.  Cut out the B Street beat-up and ran straight home.

I was mainly interested in doing the distance without regard to pace.  I felt good after 4 or 5 miles so I decided to speed it up a little.

Crazy home remedy.  Castor oil.  my neck has been killing me, the old pain in the neck.  Rubbed castor oil on the back of my neck, wrapped it in castor soaked flannel and covered with saran wrap.  Kept in on all day yesterday and the pain was reduced significantly.  This has worked better than anything else outside of chiropractic or massage.  Since it was so effective on my neck, I tried in on my achillies tendons.  Success there too.  Who would have thought.  My wife found this home remedy in a magazine. 

10 miles out and back from home.  Clear sky, wow, what a change.  1:31:50  9:11 ave.  Slow and easy.  I did not care one bit about the pace.  Very enjoyable run and scenic.  Oquirrh mountains in full view.

6 miles out and back from home.  Didn't feel like running at all, but made myself do it anyway.  As always, glad I did.  51:15  8:33 ave.  Started out slow and sluggish, then I decided to do some fartlek.  I don't usually do fartlek but I really enjoyed it.  I turned in what was going to be a slow grind into a pretty decent work out.

9 miles behind the Capitol and along 11th ave.  1:16:17  8:29 ave.   Eating a lot of sugary kind of things.  Toffee, cookies and pecan pie.  I put myself in a coma yesterday with a toffee overload.  It's amazing what this stuff does to you when you're not used to it.

4.9 miles  41:24  8:27 ave.  Had a very nice week off of work, today was the first day back to the grind.  Happy to have a job and happy to be happy.
