Grew up in St. George, UT where I ran at Desert Hills High School from 2012-2015. I spent the next 2 years in Rancagua, Chile as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. 

Senior and member of the men's track and cross country teams at Utah Valley University. President/Founder of Mongoose Elite.

Did our workout in the morning because there was something going on at the school in the afternoon. We did 8x400m with no rest between laps. We alternated our lap splits between 1:18 and 1:23. 3 in the afternoon out towards Hidden Valley on the trails.

Went up to the school and ran 6 miles along the ridge. Felt really good after a week of getting back into the workouts and getting ready for Nike and Footlocker.

3 in the morning to Hidden Valley. 400m repeats in the afternoon at Little Valley Park. It was pretty cold for our workout today, it's starting to feel more like fall. Good workout today though and it was good to do some faster  repeats and get the legs going to start the week.

3 in the morning to The Spectrum. .5 mile warm up then the Michigan workout for the second time this season in the afternoon. Our times were a lot faster than last time, and I could feel it. The intervals on the track hurt, but I just focused on relaxing on the road miles and I felt pretty good. This was a good confidence booster going into the next couple races and onto track. These workouts on the track are getting me excited for the season!

Kind of sat around all day and didn't really think I wanted to get out and run, but I was way glad that I did. 7 miles of just a nice and relaxed pace and I felt really good. First week over 60 miles for almost 2 months. It should be a good next few weeks of workouts before Nike and Footlocker. I'm feeling pretty good and I think I can do well if I keep running hard and taking care of things.

3 in the morning to Hidden Valley. In the afternoon we went over to Pine View to do a 2 mile race. It was a pretty good course and it felt like it was over pretty fast. There was a pretty good pack for the first mile (around 5:05 I think) and then it started to thin out. I can't remember my time but I think it was 10:34 or around there. It wasn't my best race but it wasn't bad. It was good to get a race in before Nike next week so I'll feel more prepared.

Drove up to Sandy yesterday after the race to come watch my sister run in the Mountain Regionals in Ogden. Did 6 miles in the morning around my grandma's house and got kind of lost so I had to call my mom and have her come pick me up. I ended up being less than a quarter of a mile away from her house so it was pretty funny. Another 3 miles in the afternoon running around and watching the races. It was pretty sweet to watch all of those guys race. Got my picture with Kennedy Kithuka so that was pretty sweet too!

7 miles this morning around my grandma's house. 3 mile warm up then a 2 mile tempo (5:45, 5:35) then a 2 mile cool down. It went well, I didn't get lost this time so that was good! Calves were really tight on the cool down though.

3 in the morning to The Spectrum. In the afternoon we warmed up 2.5 miles and then did a 1600m time-trial. I kind of talked with Ben and Josh before and we were thinking about running the first few laps at 1:12 and then we would just go all out on the last lap, I just wanted to go sub 4:50 today. We started out good, 1:10 for lap 1. 1:12 for lap 2, I was surprised with how relaxed I felt. 1:12 for lap 3 and then I started to kick. 1:04 on the final lap for 4:38, a lot better than I expected to go! We had 9 guys go under 5 minutes today, pretty sweet! This got me way excited for track because we ran very well for running in trainers and not having really done any speedwork yet. Plus, a lot of us felt like we could've gone even faster today, myself included. This is very exciting and it'll be interesting to see what we are able to do when this track season rolls around in a few months! 4x200m controlled finishes w/equal recovery after the 1600, then a 1 mile cool down.

3 in the morning around our hotel in Pheonix. It was raining the whole time but it felt really good. We went to the Pheonix Museum of Natural History afterwards and it was pretty sweet! Another 3.5 at the course jog. Still raining so the course should be pretty gnarly tomorrow.

Fun race at the Nike Southwest Regionals today! The course was awesome. Way muddy and we crossed this little stream from all the rain yesterday a few times. I didn't run the best that I could have though. But I learned some stuff that will help me in a couple of weeks at Footlocker. I need to just get out to the front and run my guts out. Today I got off the line really good but didn't accelerate enough and got caught up so I basically wasted a good jump off the line. I need to take it out fast like I did today but not settle into my pace so early. I think that will help at Footlocker so I can stay up in the front pack.

3 in the morning to Hidden Valley. 2.5 mile warm up then 8x500m hill repeats w/equal recovery and a 1 mile cool down in the afternoon. The repeats were supposed to be at a pretty hard pace. We eased into it a little and went hard for the first 5, then picked it up for the next 2, and all out on the last one. It was a good effort from all the guys today and we really pushed it. We will probably get a couple more hill workouts in in the next couple weeks to get ready for Footlocker. I'm excited to see what I can do in my last race of the season, last year I PRed on the 3 mile course so we'll see what happens this year!

This morning I met up with a few of the other guys out by Little Black Mountain. We did a 2 mile warm up, then our fartlek workout (1:1 2:2 3:3 3:3 2:2 1:1). We ended up going a little longer on the cool down to get our total mileage for the day. I felt pretty good, but my hands were freezing!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Did the mayor's loop this morning with Ben and Darian. Apparently there was a 5k/10k going on over there so we were being cheered on during our run, pretty funny! Ate a big lunch with family and then suffered the consequences a few ours later on a 3 mile run with Darian. So thankful for my family, the beautiful place I live, and the opportunity that I have to go out and run each day with all of the people that make my life worth living!

Met up with some of the guys again this morning for our workout. We did a 2 mile warm up then 6x2:00 hard w/1:00 recovery. I felt pretty good for the first few but I think I'm still a little stuffed from yesterday because I felt pretty heavy on the last few and had a bad side ache. Did a long cool down because I have to work in the afternoon.
