Met the BBK's to run the soon to be Riverton 1/2 marathon course.  We had a great turn out.  We even got Riverton Paul to brave the cold and run with us.  It was fun chatting with Teena, Paul and Cal for several miles.  There were a few times I felt pretty tired and wanted to slow down, but overall I felt pretty good.  Thanks Teena for sticking with me.  Average pace 8:33.

Julie,

I will run with you whenever!! In fact, I just posted that I needed to talk you into running with me more. The times you felt pretty tired were the exact times that I was feeling it (I think). So don't thank me ... it worked out perfectly. Thanks for the fun conversation and reminding me that you hit the downhill only after the uphill! You are great!

btw, when I said the "exact times I was feeling it," I meant "feeling tired" not "feeling it -- as in feeling good." My upper legs felt crazy tired. I think part of it was that we were running out of glycogen and not taking any in. We should have drank more and took a gu (at least I think I should of). I think our reserves were pretty much used up.

You guys were awesome. I wish I could've stayed with you guys but when nature calls...

From Julie on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 13:24:10

Teena, I agree we should have drank more. I had a gu at about mile 8 and it did seem to help. I will run with you anytime. I really enjoyed it.

Michelle, I know you were right behind us for a long time. When you gotta go you gotta go.

You did awesome today! I knew there was no way I could keep up! You were gone by the time we finished so I didn't get to tell you how great you did!

From Kelli on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 17:35:19

Yeah, you must have been in a hurry (or just really cold!!) Great job today! And, I have said it a million times, I have to cruise up the hills because I run really slow down the hills. If I do not push it as fast as i can, I quit and walk. It is a strange phenomenon. Now, hill repeats, that is an entirely different story! 1 hill--great, more than 1---NO WAY!

Ashly is out driving with Scott right now, so let's hope that none of you guys are out there. It is not safe for the next hour!!!

Hey saw your awesome mileage on the board!! I finally made over 40 (even slightly over 45, a first for me). You are my exemplar. I got to find strategic ways to increase my mileage now that I work fulltime nights. You are doing awesome!!! Are you doing Painter's? I work three nights in a row before it so I am opting out and going skiing instead after a full nights sleep.

From Julie on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 20:44:08

Jody- Thanks. You guys weren't far behind at all. I just got lucky and didn't have to make any stops.

Kelli- You really should look for a race that has tons of uphill. I think there is one in Idaho. Hobie something or other. I thought I was good on the uphill until I saw you. There is no way I could keep up.

So is your stomach in knots waiting for Ashly to get home? Taylor has 20 hours of driving in and I still get sick to stomach waiting every time she and Jerry go out. I hope it gets better.

Julie- It's so good to hear from you. Great job getting your miles in. I don't how you do it working nights. You are amazing. I am planning on running Painter's. I wish you were. I don't blame you one bit for not wanting to. What races are you doing this year?
