6:30 am Long Run: 70 degrees and clear skies starting from the house. Put on the hydration pack and loaded with clif bar, and tailwind rasberry flavor mixed with a full 1L of water. Took my favorite route: Out Carr Hill/Youth Camp hopping off road when possible (grassy strips/cleared areas). Took that out to Grand view and ran 2 loops on the road. Toyed with hopping on to the GV Woods Trail, but, don't think I'm quite ready for long and trail yet. A couple of bathroom break stops once at GV, but, pretty strong and consistent after that.
Slowly eating the Clif bar and hitting the Tailwind/water mix ever couple of miles (more frequently after 20 miles) worked great for keeping a pretty good balance between energy level and GI/stomach condition.
8.5 miles out to GV, 7.1 miles / loop (x2), and 8.5 miles back. 31.2 miles - 4:17:50, approx. 2k vert.
