I was nervous leading up to today because my knees had been bothering me all week. After the drive to SG, my hips were tight and really beginning to ache. Dusty, my sweet sister in law, worked on my hips and VOILA - no pain! Marcie and I met at my parents and ran to catch the buses up to the start. We ran 3.38 for our warm up. We were going to try to stay together but got separated right after the start. I was on my own and it took me a couple of mile to get my rhythm but I ended up feeling really good. I was unsure of the last half of the race becuase the route was different than when I ran it 2 yrs ago, so I ended up holding back a little because I was unsure of the last 2 miles. I finished with a time of 47.14 which is a PR. It is 1 min faster than my DesNews 10k in 2008 and 5 min faster than my Spectrum 10K in 2007. I am very happy with my time, but I need to get over my mental block of pushing hard because I could have done better. I am extremely happy that I felt great and I am ready to finish training for Boston. Ave Pace 7:36 Happy Running!
