Trying to get back to daily running and resume lower HR training. I was going to do 3 days of running with a midweek workout but I think I need more of a base, especially with 10-14 hours a week of cycling.
Landed a freelance editing job today so I don't feel like such a deadbeat. Thursday Night Dirt tonight (I have been out the last three weeks or so).

Warmish, but probably seasonable. Decided on B group and even that was too much by the end. My HR was very high even riding over, so I knew it wouldn't be a good day for fast riding. Rode home in the dark. My headlight gave out about 2 miles from home, but I was able to use my iPhone to get me the rest of the way.
Pretty disappointed overall with my bike fitness, so I might switch back to 3 days of riding but an overall time of 9+ hours and just do short, low HR doubles for running. I keep flinging crap against the wall hoping something will stick.

Treadmill cut out at 42'. I called NordicTrack. Had I known I was going to have this much trouble (two service calls already). I wouldn't have given them my money. I worry that they won't be able to fix the issue and I have zero recourse as a consumer. It's too bad becase the setup is working for my patient approach to returning to more running. It works just fine for Megan, but she's almost 100 lbs lighter than me currently.

Beautiful and comfortable morning to run. A little forward progress. Ride tonight. Trying to decide if I will cut out and go on my own north for a longer ride and skip the second part of the ride and the socializing and beer stop. Need to get in some longer endurance rides and since I am gone for a few hours anyway on Thursday, these might be the days to do it.

Partial Thursday Night Dirt and then solo. Some of the people were not listening to cars being called out and putting themselves and people in danger (mostly other clubs from what I could see). After the groups slit I was still getting killed in B group (I was pushing 165-175 BPM) and into the 180s on the climbs and didn't feel like working that hard. To put it in perspective that's probably all-out 90-120' effort for me. That along with other people not waiting for regroups had me ticked off, so I just skipped the rest of the ride and headed north and back toward home by myself for almost 3.5 hours.
I'm glad I stopped in Dryden for a Snickers, Mt. Dew, and two Gatorades. I really needed gels but didn't have any and wasn't planning on being that long. Longest ride in about a year.

Legs felt fine after last night's ride. Went back to bed for 2.5 hours after getting up with the boys. Should have gone to bed sooner. Pace is slowly dropping and cardiac drift is less noticable.

Wanted to get in about 4 hours of riding but the roads were a mess (at least I thought they would be). It was quite humid and the bugs on Greenshield were awful and the road was mucky from the grading and spraying a few days ago. Had to walk a little to keep HR down. Once I could no longer keep it under 139, I walked about a mile home.

Treadmill shut off. Hoping the service place calls soon before I set it on fire. Did some drills, which I haven't done in years. Well, other than the basic three I used to do for hill blast last year. The boys were in their Johnny Jump Ups, so I encouraged them every few minutes.

Ran on the track to contol the effort. The track is down the road of our subdivision and through a short field to the middle school (which will be the boys' middle school).

MAF Test 1
1-mile WU outside very easy, then attempted a 3-mile MAF test on the treadmill, but it shut off around 28 minutes. Stayed right at the target of 139/140 BPM and adjusted accordingly as per protocol.
Zwift: 10:49 (139BPM), 11:05 (140BPM), 11:19 (140 BPM)
Manual Splits: 10:26 (137), 10:45 (140), 7:10 elapsed time (140)
Last split would have been slower for full mile. It was way too hot and humid for current fitness and target HR to run outside.
11:02 pace on the Zwift w/ footpod. 10:46 average on the treadmill w/ manual watch splits. I managed to have two HRMs and then the treadmill apparently picks up my WHOOP strap
PM: 75' on the trainer (Cumberland -3). 175W. HR 146.
Watched the Tour de France while the boys jumped for a while.

Decided on a slightly longer trainer ride. Much after 90' is tough to focus on when riding inside. Got through two episodes of American Horror Story Season 8 and an episode of Family Guy because I couldn't find any soccer and the Tour was over for the day.
Some light hip stuff and bunch of pullups while Megan lifted and the boys bounced.
