Wasn't feeling it. Had to cross the road because a dog was chasing me. I sat on the other side of the road yelling at it to go home and trying to keep cars from hitting it. That zapped the rest of my motivation and I had next to zero before I left.

A storm blew through and gave us 60 degrees with low humidity and dew point and a stiff breeze. I figured we probably won't have a day like this until fall. The run felt okay to partly crappy.

I managed to weaken my glutes from lying around and not running. I can feel them being lazy. My right foot has a giant blister. Enough time to somewhat de-callus.

I'm calling off training and racing plans for a while. I just worry without them I won't be as motivated to get out the door at all. Goal for now is to try to just run and get everything straightened out.

| Lunch: Treadmill - 7.25 miles
Megan, Chas, and I went to the Y. Didn't feel like running but I did. It felt good. Did some captain's chair stuff and some adduction work in an effort to make sure my hip is strong. It's been here and there for about 2 years or more. A fairly serious imbalance on the right side. It's time to get proactive so it doesn't cause a hernia, which would suck given that we don't have insurance until August 15. Back to southeastern Michigan tomorrow to look for apartments.

| Off. Apartment hunting. I think this was the day we looked at places closer to Detroit. Lots of big places for cheap. Nothing endearing about the area. Hard to persuade me after living in Chestnut Hill, which has a ton of character.

We looked at a few more places and looked a few more again because we looked at so many we got confused. Tired of driving 90 minutes to then drive around all day. Weird traffic light patterns here. We are settling in Rochester Hills. It's a niceish area and it's closer to campus.

Drove back to Philadelphia. Walked around on Google maps, scouting out possible routes, parks, and tempo loops. I might have to drive to places to run at times in addition to getting another car, which doesn't thrill me.
The area is, predictably, flat. Our area of Philadelphia is very hilly in places. I'll miss my hills and trails. I think I'll need to do some fairly serious incline runs on the treadmill. I don't think running some many hills the last 2 years has made me a better hill runner but I think it has done a lot for my aerobic capacity.
