Short-Term Running Goals: -Find some good local races to run that will motivate me to stay in shape. Long-Term Running Goals: -Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list.
-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.
Personal: I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I live in the Twin Cities with my family and am an Epidemiology PhD Student. Running is the only hobby I have time for :) |

| | 6:48 pace, Como lake loop. Today was my first day of the season wearing gloves! I wonder how I will modify these routes in winter...

| | 6:58 pace, east river flats. Beautiful day. I'll probably get to watch the sunrise from over the train tracks later this year.

| | Anticipating a possible shorter distance race in the near future, I ran 8x400 with 90 seconds rest. This would have been good to do on the track. I probably should do that next time. Instead, I ran on Roselawn avenue near Falcon Heights park. I ran: 66, 65, 63, 63, 62, 63, 62, 60. Unfortunately, I am bummed to report that once again, I was short on distance, this time by an estimated 3 seconds, which would put me at 69, 68, 66, 66, 65, 66, 65, 63 if being generous. I developed some patellar tendon pain. I am not surprised by this tbh, as I have really been increasing my load of hills.

| | Res woods via Como, just over 7 flat pace. I probably shouldn't complain. Knee pain was pretty bad at first.

| | 6:55 pace, Farmer's fields on a nice overcast day. Knee still hurting, but certainly not any worse than before. I've chosen to not run to the river 4 out of 5 times this week, interestingly.

| | 6:12 pace today, which is honestly really great. My knee felt stiff at first but I was not bothered by it for most of my run, and it didn't come back at the end as other issues occasionally do. West river from CTC did not dissapoint on this great day for a run. Today I made a spur of the moment decision to do the chain of lakes instead. Even though this wasn't a long LR, I made it much further than last time and kind of just followed whichever of the many paths I felt to take, and ended up along the west side of lake nokomis.
