Short-Term Running Goals: -Find some good local races to run that will motivate me to stay in shape. Long-Term Running Goals: -Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list.
-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.
Personal: I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I live in the Twin Cities with my family and am an Epidemiology PhD Student. Running is the only hobby I have time for :) |

| | Tired run on Como classic after getting back from camping. I tried to enjoy it though. It's pretty nice to be able to spend my midmorning running through sleepy, shaded neighborhoods and parks.

| | Today was supposed to be a 7-mile "power run" on west river road on a day that was practically chilly. I felt fine on my way out, until I realized that my pace was not good. I hurried things up on the way back but still could only manage 5:22 pace overall. Maybe it was some residual fatigue from before.

| | 5:58 pace, Gateway trail eastward for the first time in a while. Today was my first time not finding parking at the Oakdale parking lot, and the trail itself was definitely busy, especially in the parts closer to the metro. I tried to rein it in because I had worked on on Thursday and frankly also because I knew I had a big day today and didn't want to expend all of my energy. Very nice day and enjoyable run. Splits: 4:11, 6:03, 6:03, 5:51, 5:55, 5:59, 5:56, 6:08, 3:39, 3:37, 5:58, 5:57, 6:02, 6:02, 5:56, 5:56, 5:55, 4:06.
