Short-Term Running Goals:

-Qualify for the 2024 Olympic marathon trials

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list. An Olympic Trials qualifier would be amazing.

-Break stroller records?

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

Personal:

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I eat a whole food, plant-based diet, which I believe helps my running. I like chocolate shakes on sunday nights and I will always call the Pacific northwest home.

Because of my new job at the MTC, I've been very busy. I wasn't able to run until 8:30 or so after institute. Because I was feeling very loose (as it was late in the day instead of morning) and I was trying to get my run in and then get to the gym before it closed at 10, I ended up going much faster than I should have. Hopefully it doesn't come back to bite. Miraculously, I got to the gym at 9:57 and was able to do by eccentric (110) and concentric (130) drops.

Thankfully, I felt well today. Ran pretty slow. I felt a little tired after running 19+ miles in 12 hours, but mostly I felt a little cruddy today because of dehydration. It is so hard to stay hydrated! I gotta stay more on top of that.

9 miles. In wondering why I still don't feel better, I'm thinking maybe I need to turn down the mileage and do no more than 9 a day.
