Short-Term Running Goals:

-Find some good local races to run that will motivate me to stay in shape.

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list.

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

Personal:

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I live in the Twin Cities with my family and am an Epidemiology PhD Student. Running is the only hobby I have time for :)

Didn't feel great but the soft surface helped again.

45 minutes. Felt it, but at least it didn't get any worse

Great run! 50 minutes. Only issue was my right arch, which I had arched extra to avoid stressing my Achilles yesterday (obviously not completely consciously, to use an old excuse, "my body did it"). With the pain there I obviously didn't do it again today but my Achilles was nonetheless fine.

Great run, my ice burns didn't hurt too bad and my Achilles' were fine, but my right in we arch was still hurting. I'll ice it and take some ibuprofen.

Good day. I tried to back off the pace a bit. I'm not sure how much I actually did. Surely still sub 6:50 pace. My foot hurt again, and my left Achilles felt a twinge. I'm mostly concerned about the foot though. I'll do some more research and take care of it

I ran hard today! One hour. Didn't get my pace. My plan was to go a little hard. This happened very naturally. Right around 20 minutes I just started rolling. I feel like runners have a mental disorder- we like to hurt ourselves. I was so happy to get back to that feeling of exhaustion and pain that accompany running. Now time to recover and get back into it next week! Let's go!
