Short-Term Running Goals: -Qualify for the 2024 Olympic marathon trials Long-Term Running Goals: -Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list. An Olympic Trials qualifier would be amazing.
-Break stroller records?
-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.
Personal: I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I eat a whole food, plant-based diet, which I believe helps my running. I like chocolate shakes on sunday nights and I will always call the Pacific northwest home. |

| | 8 by k on a beautiful day at intramural. Just chilled in the pack, although I did speed up on the last one because I was feeling good. Eight just isn't that bad. (3:07, 3:05, 3:03, 3:03, 3:00, 3:03, 3:00, 2:56).
Also, I saw the doctor today. We are getting an MRI so no certainties yet but I thought it was a hernia and turns out if it is, it's small. Plus it felt better today. So that's good news!

PM: 10 miles. Beautiful weather. Felt a little tired and sore in my adductor at times, including strides. Gotta be conservative tomorrow.

| | 2 by 2 mile at Intramural field, but it was supposed to feel like we could do 3 reps. It was a good day to do a chill workout cuz I was just feeling pretty tired and trashy today. So I just fell in with the group and didn't ever "pull the trigger", just ran. So I could have done one more for sure but today wouldn't have been a good day for a race. I ran 10:08 and 10:00ish but that doesn't really mean much cuz the measuring wasn't official at all.

| | Lazy Friday has gone too far- I was part way into my run when I realized I was also unintentionally skipping class. Oops. I had also scheduled my MRI later in the day with the plan to go shopping afterwards, which would have meant skipping my other class! Just cuz I don't have to be in school in person today doesn't mean I don't have to be in school! Oh well. I ran home and made it in time for the second half of Stats, then I did the last four miles.

| | I'll admit that the past 24 hours have not been my favorite ones of all time. After thinking I had a hernia, I started feeling better and the doc even said he didn't feel a big lump. My hopes came crashing down unexpectedly last night when I got a text from my trainer that my MRI indicated I have a pubic bone injury.
Ouch.
Well, such is life, even when you're a senior in the best shape of your life. I haven't had a meeting with the doctor yet so idk what to do now really. I swam 64 laps in 79 minutes (including some short breaks) mostly switching between freestyle, back, and breaststroke, and just the former two at the end. That's about 2 miles I think.
