Short-Term Running Goals: -Qualify for the 2024 Olympic marathon trials Long-Term Running Goals: -Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list. An Olympic Trials qualifier would be amazing.
-Break stroller records?
-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.
Personal: I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I eat a whole food, plant-based diet, which I believe helps my running. I like chocolate shakes on sunday nights and I will always call the Pacific northwest home. |

| | 10 miles up canyon. These days when I don't have work in the morning I usually take the baby for an hour or so and don't leave till later. That means I have the eat, and while digestive problems thankfully haven't been an issue, I do feel hypoglycemic and tired. I'll have to try to fix that.

| | 9 miles. We are in a heat wave so honestly I was happy with the fact that I didn't feel too too hot.
(update - ran farther than I thought cuz I was actually going 6:33s).

| | 13 miles. Found a new way to get to the SF canal trail past the Golden Gate Bridge. I think it's about a 5.5 mile run so on a 20 miler I could do 9 miles on the trail itself if I wanted to.

| | Bad bad sleep last night. Actually felt good on my run despite the fact that it was a harder course- did power lines trail for the first time in a year and loved it. Maybe it was because of the cooler weather. I'll have to get out earlier to run during our heat wave next week. So the trip to Minneapolis will be about 1270 miles. From the beginning of June (which is about when I started summer training) till the end of August I plan to complete about 1150 miles. So I am tracking my "journey to Minnesota" this summer for fun. At 120 miles in, I am no past Evanston Wyoming!

| | Good sleep last night which was nice after a tough night at work. Sad day though cuz it was smoky out cuz of a fire. Nooooo! 6:08 pace.

| | Miraculously it wasn't smoky this morning even though it was a total pit yesterday morning. Did my classic MLR.

| | AM: 10 miles. Really feels a lot worse when I get out late.
PM: 5 crazy miles running through swarms of bugs on the only half mile route I could on our camp out. Later that evening it started storming and the lightning lit a fire so we evacuated and I got home at 1:30 am. Woke up this morning feeling yucky and hips hurting.

Trip to Minnesota: I am not just coming into Rawlins Wyoming. Laterally I am over halfway through WY but now we have to go north and even east before I get to South Dakota.

| | Ran after getting off the plane at 11:30 in 85 degrees with next to no diet planning and little sleep. So understandably I gave myself permission to feel however I needed to today. Somehow I actually felt pretty good!

| | AM: 9 miles on power lines. Hip started hurting. Think it is trochanter bursitis. I think it had to do with all the hill running and because my Achilles were not doing great, I overworked my hips on the uphills.
PM: 5 insanely windy miles. As of the next morning I still have something in my eye. Hip hurt bad.
