Since it is the new year, I thought I should take a moment and record all my races for 2006 and set some new goals for 2007. First of all in 2006 I ran 2236 miles, which is the most miles I've ran in a year since 1998. I really felt good about my miles and believe I can ran even more in 2007. The goal this year will be 2500 miles. Great race for me and nice finish to a good year of training and racing. Some goals for this year: 1. As mentioned earlier run 2500 miles 2. Run all the local community races in St. George 3. Improve marathon time to under 2:40:00 4. Participate in the Utah Grand Slam 5. Average 50 miles a week. 6. Continue to enjoy running 7. Improve diet 8. Get weight down to 140 lbs Difficult run today. Started from my house and ran over to the trail that leads up to the La Verkin Overlook, the first two miles where a pretty good climb, combination of running and hiking. Once on top things were better and my pace picked up, coming down the La Verkin twist was good, except we have had a lot of wind in La Verkin lately and it was really windy and cold today. When I got down to Farmer's Market I decided to head north and run along the Confluence trail back to the west. I had to do a few laps around the neighborhood to make the run 10 miles, but it was a good way to start the week. Burned 1614 calories and averaged 8:21 (the first two miles climbing up the hill really messed up my overall average) 1-10:44 2-11:09 3-7:17 4-7:32 5-6:30 6-6:58 7-7:47 8-7:28 9-9:50 another difficult hill climb 10-8:12 |
