This morning I did the Run for Kids 10K ran 38:40 and felt pretty good, ended up taking 3rd place overall and second in my age group. Clyde took 2nd and Bill was 4th. Steve was resting his IT band sitll, but did come to coach us along. The race had a pretty good hill from miles 4 to almost 6. I also wonder if their mile markers were off a little, 1-5:21, 2-5:36 (10:57), 3-6:19 (17:16), 4-7:00 (24:17), 5-8:44 (33:01) was uphill but I think it was measured a little long, 6-4:47 (37:48) downhill and short, .2-51.24 (38:40).

Good work. I do not think you even need to wonder if the mile markers were off. The only thing I wonder about is why bother putting them out at all if you are not going to put them where they belong. They are absolutely worthless to an experienced runner even if they are only 50 yards off. I never trust the race mile markers unless they are painted on the road or have been previously verified, and always double-check them using the highway markers if they are available.
