| | Slow sluggish miles again this morning. I did put in an extra mile this morning with no problems from the knee. If all goes well this week I'm going to try running 4 times next week. What's up with the heat? It was cooler at 7am on Friday than at 5am this morning. The cloud cover kept in the heat and bumped up the humidity. Nasty. I shouldn't complain though, there are worse places to run this time of year. |

| | 4 not as slow as Monday but still pretty slow miles. It takes a while to get warmed up when getting up at 4:45 and running at 5:00 and I started out too fast which wiped me out for the rest of the run. Oh well. Average Pace 9:25. |

| | Five miles on 700 South at 6:30 this morning. A month ago the sun was out and getting hot already at 6:30 but today it didn't come up until 7. Already getting darker. Average pace of 8:51 was slower than last Friday but still my third fasts time of the year. That's depressing actually. Started to push it at mile 3 and ran an 8:14 but my endurance sucks and that's all I had. The next two were 8:50s. " That is not a chew toy. You have no idea where it's been. " |

4 miles at 5am. I think I've been pushing it a little too hard on the first mile before I'm warmed up. I took at real slow this time (10:11) and it helped because mile 4 was my first mile under 8 in a long time (7:53). Average pace was 8:50. I forgot to mention the temperature. 57 degrees, absolutely gorgeous. It was dark the whole time though and that sucks. The only light we'll be seeing at 5am is the moon (unless you live in Arizona). |

| | 1 mile warm up, 4 half mile repeats ran at 4 minutes, then 1 mile cool down. They were actually all well under 4 minutes so maybe I'll try 3:50 next week. 54 degrees this morning. It was perfect weather (other than being dark with no moon). The knee was talking to me a little bit. I hope it doesn't continue. |

| | Some runs are just enjoyable. Nothing special. Started at about 6:30 and it was B-E-A-utiful. 8:35 pace which is my second fastest 4 mile pace this year. Still along way to go but it's coming along. |

| | First consecutive run. Took it slow and easy. Had to because I can still feel it from yesterday's run. Endurance is still coming back and has a way to go but this is progress. The knee felt fine, much better than Wednesday. Started at 7:30 and it was still cool. I'm liking the cool mornings. |

| | Another 4 miles. Weather was warmer than usual and humid from last nights wicked lightning storm. I was a little tired from the storm that was impossible to sleep through. Then my wife brought our scared 4-year-old into bed. She decided to sleep perpendicular. |

| | 4 1/2 mile repeats all run at 3:45. I was aiming for 3:50 and will continue to do so because I'll start increasing the reps sometime soon. One mile warm up and one mile cool down. My Mizuno Elixers now have over 650 miles on them and still feel good. What's with the 500 mile limit on shoes? People run without shoes! So why should 500 miles be a limit? I suppose if the shoe wears more quickly on one side or the other because of someone's gait it might mess stuff up, but I run pretty neutral so I'm going to see how many miles I can put on these things.

| | 4 easy miles. It took forever to get warmed up. My first mile was 10:07 and even the first half of the second mile was slow. On top of that I almost went back to bed. I had this run and one more to get in this week so "I could just run Friday and Saturday" I told myself. After going back to bed one day it gets easier to go back to sleep on the next so I dragged myself out. Average pace 8:57. |

| | Ran 5 this morning. 65 degrees, it was as a little warmer than usual. Went with my daughter while she rode her bike. It was fun. Average pace 8:35, pretty good. Things are improving. The tunnel under main street on the JRP is open! It is a little gross. It looked like a light brown landscape fabric was draped over the rock retaining wall. It was actually a big wall of gross algae. I almost threw up in my mouth. |

| | I slept through yesterday's run. The alarm went off and I turned it off. Laid there for a bit having it in the back of my mind that I needed to get up. Finally got up and noticed that 15 minutes had past. Pretty good, I wasn't that late. I looked again and it 1 Hour and 15 minutes. Crap. So this morning I had 2 days rest and it showed. I had a good quick run at 8:30 average pace. Only 1 second off my year's best. However, I did have my fastest mile split on mile five. 7:52. Little by little it's coming back. I also had the opportunity to clear out some spider webs on the JRP this morning, so that was nice. |

| | I pushed it yesterday so I took it nice and easy this morning, 9:30s. I also struggle on the second day of back-to-backs. I just don't have the fitness to hit that second day very hard. |

| | I didn't want to run this morning. The alarm went off and I really wanted to go back to bed but I'm glad I didn't. 2 miles of warm up and cool down and 4 half mile repeats. Ran them in 3:43, 3:33, 3:39, 3:39. I'm happy with those times but I didn't have much left. My legs were getting pretty tired so I'm not sure I could have put in another couple at 3:45. But it was fun. AND HOT. 70 degrees at the start of the run. It hasn't been that hot since July. |

| | Didn't have much energy for this run. I don't have my Garmin with me but I think the average pace was 9:10 or so. Would have been even slower but there was a guy to pick off on the last mile so of course I had to pass him. |

| | Went to bed late last night so maybe that is why I was a little slow again this morning. 8:53 pace. 55% humidity supplied lots of sweat. |

| | 1.5 mile warm up, .5 mile cool down and 4 half mile repeats. 3:33, 3:34, 3:31, and 3:30. It amazes me that some of you out there can consistently put in low 6s mile after mile for 13-26 miles. I'm wiped out after a half mile at 7 min pace. |
