I gained 30 lbs. during the service and came back out of shape; however I knew that if the Lord wanted me to once again run competitively, he would bless me to return to fitness.
I graduated from Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah. I currently run for Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Favorite Blogs: |

PM-3x2 mile/4laps at Intramural field. Ran 9:55, 9:45, 9:36. Michael’s watch had it about 20 seconds off each time, but GPS watches aren’t always so accurate. Good workout, first one Zac and Michael ran with me for most of the way, second way Zac was with me for a lap or two, last one was on my own. Weights after. 3.5 up, 2.9 down, about .6 total between sets.

| | AM-2x(mile, 1200, 800) with less rest than the last time. miles were 4:42 and 4:40, 1200s were 3:26, 3:27, and 800s(track instead of grass) were 2:10.9, 2:11.9. First mile I went out way too quick. It was wet and early, but I still should have paced it better (roughly 2:17 at the 800m). 1200s were both good. Talem ran with first 800m with me. We went out a bit slow(68), and it hurt to get moving after that. Last set was all on my own. Went out a bit more conservative on the mile, running 2:21 at the 800m. Felt better, but still felt like I was digging. Next 1200m was relatively well paced. Last 800m I wanted to run 2:08, but for some reason, I couldn't get my legs moving any quicker 66 pace for the first lap, and couldn't quite seem to finish well either. With the little rest and running the majority of the workout on my own, I'll count it as a good workout, but it wasn't great. I haven't been sleeping too well this last week, so I'll have to work on that.
PM-Just over 6 miles, mostly with Talem.

Bill Dellinger Invitational (4.971 Miles) 00:23:24, Place overall: 1, Place in age division: 1 | | AM-race. Wasn’t the best for our team, but a good experience. About 3 miles of warm up, 5 mile race, 5.4 cool down. I got out well enough that I was able to get to the lead just after the mile. I stayed around top 10 for the rest of the race, touching the lead every once in a while. I felt sick with a stuffy nose and sore throat for the past few days, so I ran a little more conservative than usual. Robert Brandt started a push around 3 miles. After that Cooper fell off and for a little bit it was just Jake, Brandt, and I. Eventually, Jake fell off, and Brandt and I went back and forth. I tried to pass him a few times in the last 1000m, but it wasn’t until the last 100m or so I was able to pass him.
PM-6 miles with some of the team at a rainy pre’s trail.
