| | AM-20 miles on Murdok canal trail, down Grinder(hill by American Fork high school), to American Fork High School, and then looped back to Braden's house. I didn't feel great the first seven or eight miles, but as time went on, I started to feel great! After we had breakfast and watched the first session of General Conference at Braden's house.

PM-20x400 at 5k pace effort. We were in the indoor practice field due to the weather, and I felt like garbage. Lots of sharp turns. Averaged 68s I think.

| | Long run on Murdock canal trail. Felt relaxed and the weather was great. Averaged 6:00 on the dot according to Clayton. About 11 miles into the run, Milly pulls out a giant chocolate cookies in a bag and shares it with us. I would not recommend eating cookies when you’re running sub-6 pace.

PM-3x30/40 thousands with Clayton, then 2x200m. We were on for all the thousands, within a second nearly every 200m. 200s were 29.5 and 27.5. Just feeling race pace out on the first one, and then on closing hard the last 100m on the last one.

Brian Clay Invitational (0.932 Miles) 00:03:45, Place overall: 39 | | AM-2 mike shakeout. First time I’ve felt good all week.
PM-2.5 mile warm up, strides, then the meet was delayed due to someone passing out and having a seizure after their race. It was sad to see/hear about. I jogged around a bit during this time, did more strides, then we raced. The gun went off almost immediately after the “on your marks” and Clayton and I weren’t ready. That plus getting shoved back put me in last at 100m. At 200m someone yelled “30” when I passed and this gave me some confidence that I hadn’t messed up my race. I came across 300 around 45, and slowly moved up. I came across 1:45ish at 700m about. Immediately after that, I saw a bit of jostling and Clayton was pushed to the infield. Like WAY on the infield. He thought he was DQed, so he just got back on the back of the pack and finished the race. When I saw this, I decided to move up more. I moved up and at about 450m to go, I took the lead. I still felt good, but it didn’t feel right to kick. It didn’t feel like the last lap of a race, and my mind wasn’t focused. With a little over a 100m to go, my mind is thinking of how my family is watching me and whatnot. I still tried to kick in the last 100, but I didn’t speed up as much as I expected to. I took 3rd in the heat, and I was happy about the time. It was a fun experience dropping down in an event. 10.3 mile run with Clayton after

| | AM-8x1000m at Intramural field. Didn’t feel the best, but it was still a good workout. The AM group was small, and everyone there except Clayton and myself were pretty beat from last week’s races, so it was mainly just us two for the workout. Averaged 3:00 or 3:01. The grass was wet and longer than usual, so I’ll use that to explain why it was harder than usual.
PM-5.5 miles.

PM-8x400 at 60s for the first 5, 59 for the next two, then I only ran the first 200 of the last one. 90 seconds jog in between. Good workout. Clayton and I switched off on every other for the lead.

| | AM-13 mile long run in Park City. We hit up the rail trail.
PM-After downing a Beto's breakfast burrito less than an hour before I started to warm up, I paced the mile at the Robison Invite. I would never recommend this as pre-race fuel, but I was hungry and it was quick. Was pretty close to the goal pace, but only one person went with me and no one pushed the pace after I dropped off. Went 60-61 through 409 meters, and 2:02 at 809(goal was 2:02-03 at 800m, so I was close). 1 mile cool down after.
