Running Accomplishments:

Pre-high school: I ran a lot of local 5ks and a few half marathons.  I didn't do a ton of training, but I just had fun, and I got more serious about it as high school got closer.

High school: I enjoyed running a lot, especially cross country.  I originally did track to keep my in shape for cross country.  I ran at Footlocker Nationals, the Adidas Dream mile, Brooks PR Invitational, world xc junior championships, and a few local 5ks. 

PRs: 800: 1:56.80-State Track 2014

1600: 4:10-State Track 2014/Mile: Sea Level-Adidas Grand Prix-4:07

3200:Alititude(~4500ft): 8:57.99-State Track 2014-2 Mile:8:53 at Brooks PR Invitational

5K: New Balance Indoor Nationals(2014) - 14:24

10K:USA Junior Track Championships (2014)-31:01

15K: Blacksmith Fork Freedom Run (aided) 48:10(2013).

Make sure I have fun, not get burned out, and get faster.

School records in the 5km and 10km.  

Personal:

Served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from July 2015-July 2017.  I gained 30 lbs. during the service and came back out of shape; however I knew that if the Lord wanted me to once again run competitively, he would bless me to return to fitness. 

I graduated from Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah. I currently run for Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

AM-2 mike shakeout

PM-3 mile warm up with Eric Hamer, strides, race, 8.5 mile cool down with Clayton.

Updated race report: Went out for a warm up alone, but quickly ran into Eric Hamer.  He is one of the nicest people in the sport, and it was great to warm up with him to calm nerves and to have someone to run with.  We were both on the world cross country team together in 2015, so we've known each other for a while.  Anyway, on the warm up, I tripped on a wire fell forward on the pavement.  Scrapped up my hand, knee, and jacket.  It hurt.  It took my mind off the race, but I would've much rather had something else to distract me from being nervous. After did some strides, got to check-in tent, stretched, did some strides on the track during Clayton's final lap, and was super nervous to know if he qualified or not(the announcers were only talking about John Dressel's dive for 4th, but not who took fifth, and the scoreboard had it in tiny letters, so I couldn't tell).  Eventually I found out he was 5th, so that was good to hear.  He said he went into it a bit too confident, and almost paid the price.  I knew my heat was stacked, so I was going to do my best to race smart.

Gun goes off and I get into good position in the middle pack.  The race started quick with Wyatt Didrickson leading the way for the majoriy of it.  Through this race, I always felt like I was in good position compared ot the 10k.  Robert Brandt took the lead with 5 or 6 laps to go and started hitting 65s.  I moved up to the outside of the second line (so fourth) and stayed there until about a little over a lap to go.  Then I was in 5th or 6th, but I knew we would have 7 qualifiers in our heat.  At 150m to go, I was in 6th, and I looked back and saw Robert Brandt was close, but I didn't see if anyone else was close.  With 100m to go, Luis started coming back to me, so I made a small move to pass him and finish in fifth.  

8.5 mile cool down with Clayton, some wiht Garnica, and Tyler and Robert from UCLA.
