Big boys Marathon Prep class today.

Last week I ran the same course at a 5:48 avg for the run and felt smooth and rockin. Today I ran a 6:05 avg and felt like crap. The whole run. From the very start. Temps were warmer today than the last couple weeks but overall I just felt wore out and run down. Glad today wasn't race day...

Anyways after a 4 mile warm up we started the 4 mile, 8 mile, 4 mile workout.

I didn't want to do it from the start and let the first mile slip by at 6:21, Tried a little harder on the next to hit 5:48. By then the guys were way up on me. Tried harder on the last couple miles hitting a 5:24, 5:15 to almost reel them in before stopping at our water and GU.

8 mile set at 6 min pace. Nothing fancy here. Just rolling a long but the pace didn't seem to be that fast. I just felt like I couldn't go fast at all. But we basically hit our marks.

On the last 4 mile set I didn't feel better. But wanted to "push" out whatever I could and make the best of it. Went 5:16, 5:12, 5:12, 5:27. On the last mile I almost got hit by not one but two cars while I crossed the blvd and slowed down. After that I never got the same flow again. But overall happy to have closed it out and logged something for the bank...

Clyde, time to rest the horses. you are prepared for a good marathon. Resist the temptation to "test" yourself just to make sure.

Hang in there buddy. Look back at all your workouts and prep. You are ready. One more solid workout next week and then rest it my friend! Trust me SUPERFLY will be out to play on Marathon day.
