Such a small workout, but I feel on top of the world. Getting the legs turning over was exhilarating. Now that I've had a couple weeks in the 50ish mpw range, I'm starting to add in some very small workouts. Get the legs safely used to some faster paces before upping the volume/intensity. I didn't focus on pace at all for this, but looks like I ranged from 5:38 down to 5:10.

| 12 steady on the JRT. I didn't get a second workout in this week, so I opted to just cruise a bit quicker on this one. After a warmup mile in 7:39 I opened it up a touch and started rattling off miles in the 6:40-6:50 range. For my current fitness, it was not an easy effort. My HR rose up to about 150 by mile 4 and stayed there for the rest of the run.
Time to start ratcheting up the volume a little again. I'll shoot for 55-60 over the next couple weeks and then see where things stand. I'm a little concerned about my right knee still. It has felt rock solid for months now, but the last couple runs I sense the same pain lingering in the fringes. I've been a little lax with my PT exercises. I'm scared of it blowing up again.

The pain in my knee is definitely creeping into the background. I plan to keep the volume where it's at and see if it will stabilize. Reach out to the ortho and see if he wants to do another injection. I've been through so much therapy on this thing -- if it needs surgery I'd rather leave no question about it than keep playing the game of backing off every time it gets sore.

| T pace day. I was hoping to hop in the local Turkey Trot, but fatherly duties intervened. I got up early to hit the track near my in-laws'.

Very controlled. No issues holding pace. Being on the track really helps me to keep on pace vs trying to do these on a trail at this point. Still need some time to get paces trained in my legs.
T days have increased from 4 min total work to 8 to 12 to 15 and now to 21. Not bad. Still have a really long ways to go.

| 2 very easy miles. I've let the hammy rest for close to a week and am starting rehab on it. Felt mostly good but was getting a little tight towards the end. Started a couple of therapy exercises afterwards.
I also scheduled surgery on my right knee to correct the plica syndrome I've been experiencing. It's mostly been behaving since my last injection (October), but there's lingering soreness. And I'm not lifting because weights aggravate my knee. I feel that lifting is going to be important for keeping my hammies healthy at this point. This is what, the 4th or 5th hamstring pull I've had in the last few years? I want to get my knees in good shape so everything else will (hopefully) fall in place.
