I took second at USATF Nationals Cross-Country when I was ten. I was 6th at nationals in the 3000 in 2004. Personal: I did lots of competitive running growing up. I'm now 23 and have fibromyalgia and CFS. I just finished nursing school and am going back for my MSN in a few months, but I want to get back in shape and be able to run again. |

I ran to the gym from my house the long way. It was just under 5 miles and it took me 39:55. It was really hot outside but my leg didn't hurt at all. I also biked for 30 minutes and did conditioning.
This week I'm going to add in cross training and conditioning.
Conditioning each day will be:
3x10 push-ups
3x30 sit-ups
3x50 lunges
3x1 minute arm swings |

I ran the cemetary loop today. It was 7 miles and it took me 57:37, so about 8:15 pace. My shin didn't hurt, but I was sore from some of the stuff I did yesterday. After the run we did 5 strides on the grass.

We did 3 miles around the blockfrom the park. It took me 23:30 so about 7:50 pace. Then I did 5 grass strides. Then we jogged a mile and a half cooldown. My shin was hurting a bit after the first 3 miles. Other than that it was good but I'm still sore.

We ran on shoreline trail this morning. We started at the zoo and then ran to the drinking fountain at Red Butte Gardens and then back. It was 5 miles and it too me 47:47, so 9:33 pace. It sure felt faster than that but since it was on the trail that's probably why. The trails are always slower. My leg hurt a little bit before and then a little bit in the middle but other than that it was fine. My legs are starting to get tired.

| Did just over a mile warm-up then some strides and then a mile time trial. I did it in 6:25. Then we did a cooldown. I felt good about the mile because I did it in training shoes and I did it after having worked 20 of the past 24 hours with no sleep. At the end of it I felt like I could have kept going at the pace. I think I need to keep working on developing my speed and the times will come down lots. Afterward I took an icebath. |

| I went for an easy 5 miles from my house towards my Grandpa's. My dad picked me up at 5 miles. I ran nice and easy and just enjoyed the run. It took me 46:57 and it felt pretty good. My legs are tired and sore from building my miles, but my shin didn't hurt too much. I only thought about it two times during the run. |

I ran just over 7 miles. We're in montana this week so we went to find a good trail to run on. We drove along a road till it took us to about 11,000 feet. We got out and looked for some trails but couldn't find any so we drove back down to around 7,000 and found a trail there to run on. We ran on a trail on the way out and a dirt road on the way back. It was nice, but my arch was really sore. I'm not sure why. My leg didn't hurt too bad but it did hurt. Other than that my legs felt good. It took us 1:04, so about 8:50 pace. Now I'm taking an icebath so my legs can recover quickly. I also did conditioning and 20 minutes of stretching.
This week for daily conditioning I'm going to do:

3x12 push-ups
3x55 lunges
3x20 calf raises

I ran 6 miles today on a trail. The trail was really rocky so it was hard to run fast because we had to be careful not to fall. It took us 57:24, so 9:34 pace. My leg hurt on the way back down but not too bad. I still need to be careful with it though. We saw lots of bear tracks on the trail, but luckily no bears.
Tonight I went with my dad on his run. I rode the bike while he ran, but he rolled his ankle during the run so I let him ride the bike the rest of the way while I ran, so I got 2 more miles. |

| I ran 5 miles today in 42:04, so 8:25 pace. I did 3 strides at the end of the run. My legs were very sore and got tired easy on the hills, but my shin didn't bother me so that's good. I also did conditioning, stretching for 20 minutes, and 35 minutes of swimming/pool running. |

| I did my long run today. I ran 10 miles in 1:27:30, so 8:45 pace. I felt really good and my shin hardly hurt at all. My legs weren't too tired after the run. I can feel my fitness improving, I just have to remember to be patient. 35 minutes on the bike. |

| We went to the local track by where we were staying. It was a very old track and the surface was really slow. I did 4 laps warm up then 4 laps of speed changes and one lap slow. Then I did 2x1 mile with 5 minutes in between. The first one was 6:40 and the second was 6:50. It was pretty windy during both but the wind was worse in the second one. I was a little bit disappointed with my times but with the higher elevation, wind, and slower surface I guess it wasn't too bad. After I did a mile cooldown. |

| We met up with a girl on our xc team that is staying in Jackson for the summer, and went running. We ran 4.5 miles really easy. We were up at 8700 feet so it was slow but that's alright. I got 40 miles for the week so that was exciting. Now I just have to stay focused. |

| I went for a 5 mile run from sunnyside park. It ended up being a little bit over 5 miles, and it took me 41:55, so 8:09 pace. I was taking it easy so I was suprised I ended up going that fast, but it felt really good and my shin didn't hurt. |

We did 2 laps in the gully for a warm-up. Then we did 5 strides. Then we did a circuit of 30 seconds burpees, sprint, 30 seconds jumping jacks, sprint, 30 seconds squats, sprint, 30 seconds mountain climbers, sprint. Then we did 20 minutes of fartlek. 10x1 minute on, 1 minute off. Then we jogged a little over a half mile cooldown.

| Today we did our bike run relay. We had 2 man teams and we went 10 miles alternating biking and running every mile. It felt pretty easy but it was still fun. |

I did about a two mile warm-up. Then I did some high knees and butt kicks. Then 3 strides before my miles. I did 2x1 mile with about 5 minutes in between. My times were 6:13 and 6:15. It felt really good. My legs feel strong but I'm definetely lacking in cardiovascular fitness. I'll have to work on that more. After I did a two mile cooldown.

| I went for a run that was almost 5 miles. I just ran easy. It took me 40 minutes. My shins hurt a little bit, and afterward my knee hurt. Hopefully by tomorrow my knee will be ok. |

| I ran with the team from the school to sugar house park, then around the park and back. I added in the parking lot to make it six. It took me 44:30, so 7:25 pace. I pushed pretty hard and my legs hurt after, but they don't feel too bad today. |

We did our workout today in 90 plus degree weather. We jogged one mile warm-up on the track, then did 3 laps of speed changes and 1 lap slow. Then we did 2x1 mile with 5 minutes recovery. My first mile was 6:21 and my second was 6:25. Then we did a mile cooldown. I didn't go into this workout with quite the right mind set. My times weren't awful but I know I could have went faster if I would have focused on staying up with the lead pack more. Our first meet is next week and I'm a little bit nervous because I still don't know where I'm at, and we have a new region so I don't know anyone who will be in the race really. But I'm still excited, and I think I can do well as long as I stay mentally focused.

My shin hurt in the warm-up and cool down but I didn't notice it much during the tempo run. I'm encouraged by my tempo run because it sort of gives me a better feel for where I'm at racing wise. But I guess I won't know for sure till wednesday. |
