Raced the Westchester Veterun 10k.  35:58

This was a great race. Not just time wise, but for race toughness as well. I was able to perform a manual override on that negative little man that starts heckling you when you begin to feel the wear of the race, and I beat that little man too!!!!! I fell asleep during mile 3....but I woke up again and ended up running a negative split. Either the second and third miles splits were off, or I was in a coma instead of just snoozing a bit.

Mile 1: 5:40
Mile 2: 5:30
Mile 3: 6:16  (17:26)
Mile 4: 5:50
Mile 5: 5:45
Mile 6: 5:35  (17:06)
End .2: 1:23 (5:35 pace)

Other than MIle 3, which stinks whether they messed up the markers or not, a pretty solid performance. The course was flat and beautiful, the weather was ideal, and I stayed in the race almost the entire time (Hooray I'm on my way back!). The last .2 my legs were rubberized, and afterwards I had soreness to be expected. I think the negative splits show that I'm ready to run even faster, but the rubberization may have been worse had I not fallen asleep... Who knows? We'll see. Either way this was a nice benchmark test. I'm just gonna keep pluggin' away!

Ran a shake out at 7:10 pace with my neighbors greyhound, who got tired!  Somebody is out of shape.  I made up a song after last night...

There were two in the bed and the little one said, "Roll over Roll over"

There were three in the bed and the other little one said, "roll over, roll over"

There were four in the bed and the mommy said, "Scoot over, Scoot over"

There were four in the bed and the mommy said, "Forget it, forget it"

There was one in the bed and a little one said, "roll over, roll over"

There were two in the bed and the mommy said, "Get back in your own bed.  I can't sleep in this twin bed with both of us it's too hot!  I love you though"

There was one in the bed (finally) and the mommy said "ZZZZZZZZZ"

I ran a steady state run... 50:30 for 8 miles with Matt, whose respect I have finally earned.  Fun run.

54:30  I felt like I was running sooooo slow.  I wanted to run a gentle today my calves were a little tight, and I've been short of breath for a couple of days... Asthma is stupid

I did 3 hill repeats on a 1000-1200 meter loop.  total run 1:03:15.  Felt pretty good.  It was freezing!

Ran 1.5 in the evening with cooper 12:50 for the total!  He was determined to make it too the water tower and back!  We had to stop and run "sprints" on the soccer field too (that isn't added in).  We watched the video on Ryan Hall on GodTube this morning and now he's pumped.  "Make me a fast runner Mommy".  As he knows I can't do that, but I can help him love to run!

I didn't time myself!  I thought I'd include the link to the Ryan Hall video!  It's awesome, inspiring and it makes my day everytime I watch it!

2.5 at night around soccer fields near home so cooper could jump in and jump out as he felt like it.

RAn this with Paul at Shades.  I was surprised at my reluctance and trepedation on the trails.  I also surprised at how out of breath the hills between sugar creek and Alamo made me.  My hamstrings were so tight by the end!  I added half a mile to this, according to garmin, because it felt like 14.5!
