Took a page out of Chad Robinson's book and went for a late night run. Since I don't trust drivers to see me at night, I went to the Cottonwood High track and did a 5 mile tempo. Warmed up with 5 laps, 2K at about 7:00 min pace. Went straight into 20 lap tempo, 8K. 1600 meter splits were: 1- 6:06 2- 6:00 3- 5:51 4- 5:41 5- 5:37 Total time 29:15, 5:51 average It was dark so I didn't know my pace as I ran, I just hit the lap button every 400 meters. Run was more of a progression than I had guessed. Cooled down with another 5 laps and added 70 meters just to make it 7.5 miles for the night. |
