A warm up of three laps began the work out, then a junior high track meet showed up so we were forced to clear the track we then mapped out a .25m long loop that resembled a 400m. Our workout proceeded so two 400's 68 and 69 the two 300's 48 and 47 then two 200's at 24 and 25 and two 150's at 21 and 22, I then worked on my kick for 10 minutes then ran home for my cool down.

Today (in my opinion) history re-wrote itself. It started with a nice 45 minute drive down from Salt Lake to BYU, I then got there and had a fight with the people who checked bracelets to get in to the stadium but that was resolved, quickly, I then startd to jog around and see who was there and just to look around. I warmed up with about a mile and started to just sit and mentally prepare myself, I thought that the girls heats were going all the way to 10 at a slow pace. I then  by found out that BYU people are very good at moving people along and before I knew it they had called heat 2 boys and I still had not stretched. I did get a little bit of static stretching at the beginning so I then got a bit of balistic stretching so I felt confident in myself. I was ranked number one in my  heat so I felt even better with my self with the best spot on the track.

The first lap was pretty good, just jossling around and seeing what people were going to in the first lap, there was a group of five kids that ran like a 64 there first lap so I thought that I was not going to be able to win this, but as the second lap came around I was able to catch three of them so I gained very confident, I then came around leading the third lap (I dont even know my splits in this meet) but then Garett from East had a wild surge that put him ahead by 5 seconds, I then tried to kick but did not have it in me, I was still making great time and was around 3rd, the final stretch came in and I did the worst thing. I looked behind me and got passed by another kid, this was good though because I need to work on my kick and this showed me to discipline myself to not look behind me. I cam in 4th with a time of 4:49. That is a 5 second drop from Orem Tiger Trials so I am very pleased with my result. Cool down of one mile.

Track work by starting with a mile warm-up, then two 400m with a 100m kick hovering at 83s then three 300m sprints, felt slow on these and I did not get my times. Then two 150m which I still did not get my time, knees hurt badly today but hoping that my shoe change will improve them. I am ready though for regionals this wednesday but feel down because my team said that me and the other kids will not make it to state but I am determined to run  4:39 mile this wednesday and a 2:05 800m. I am determined.

I did a nice slow two mile run with moderate hills, I did this at 6:00 A.M. and knew I was going to be sore for the first 400m but I remain very tight in the knees for the whole run which really questioned me. If my knees keep hurting like this I may just run barefoot for the rest of my life! But anyways, i will do some Bikram today and see if that clears it up.

Tomorrow is region and I am running the 1600 and the 800, 1600 I feel pretty confident in but the 800 i am going to really to have to push in order  to win because if the coach is running them I might be going up against Chuk and Rory from Herriman so that will be quite a race.

I was confident going in this race and felt great, first lap was 71 so good second lap was 2:20 so great, then third lap was 3:42 then final was 4:57, I died on those last two laps and did not do well in my opinion. My legs sort of shut down on me the last two and I did not feel great, the headwind did not help but I am suprised I did a 4:57 with the conditions.

Today I was determined to win, I was mad about my mile yesterday so I was in a pissed of mood. I was seated in the 800m with a time of 2:20 (but I was ready) the first lap was good, I stuck with the group and cam eon the first lap at 62, (awsome) I then felt a sort of lightness in me and I started to slip by everyone until with 300m to go I had a 10m lead on the second place guy, I then kicked and everyone on my team said that I increased my gap up to 20m, I then finished with a time of 2:09, dangerously close to the seeded guys and their times of 2:06.

My highlight of tonight, I know that he was saving energy for the 2 mile, but I beat Chuk Mitchell from Herriman by one second, I know that he was not giving his all and that he would whoop me in a race but not today, today I beat him by one second.

I have not run that much since region so went out for five miles today, I felt good but my knees kept giving out on me in the last mile. JV Region went not so good, my legs were very sore but I still came in at a 4:57, I thought that I could do well on the 800 but it was two events right after the mile so I went out and did pretty well in second with a 2:09 so not the best day, but a day.

Today I just calmly ran an easy 2miles. When I got to the track, I decided to run one 400 to see what my split was,(I had been running 68's so I was hoping for a 58) I did this 400, barefoot. It started to hurt at the 300m mark and I started to slow down, I finished at 62 so pretty good, I then started to cool down when I got severe pains in my large toe, I made me stop and cringe a little and when I looked on the bottom of my toe, there was a blister the size of a quarter, right in the middle of my foot. And I still had two miles to run. Running with a blister is the worst thing to do and it hurt so bad but after what felt like 5 miles, I made it home and started to Ice it. It really confuses me in what caused the blister but I think that it might have been going barefoot.
