Run with Barry today down Pocatello Creek Rd. to my house.  Great conversation and he did great coming back from being sick.  I was worried about him last week, but we did great.  Temperature was warm at 39 degrees.  I felt toasty running.  I felt Barry on the last 1.5 of the run just to speed up.

Totals 9.1 miles at an overall 6:30 pace in 59:11.  Splits: (warm-up mile then:  6:21, 6:14, 6:13, 6:34, 6:29, 6:37, 5:50,  cold down 6:59).

Fun run with Barry now off to take my son to last tee-ball game, and then trick or treating with the kids.

warm = 39F ???

I know what you mean though. The chill in the air feels nice.

Nice run...I haven't kept up with you for a while. Hope you and the family are doing well!

Adam - it felt really nice this morning. Of course when I was trying to winterize our RV trailer this afternoon and take my son to his last tee ball game the wind started to pick-up. This made it real cool. I hope you had a good halloween.

Rockness - My family is healthy now, and were hanging in there. Been extremely busy at work. Spiritually I could be better.

I think it was Billy Graham who spoke of his mountain top experiences, but then went on to emphasize how most of our lives are lived out in the valley. Not trying to get "preachy"...just hopefully a word of encouragement:).

nice splits and great running both of you.... I know what you mean I like it to be cooler when I am running but then when I am not running I really feel the cold big wimp I am eh !

How did the winterization of the camper go, did you get it all done? What are you doing with your batteries over the winter?

From Kory on Tue, Nov 03, 2009 at 12:12:32 from 134.50.89.55

It went well, except I thought I had a bypass water heater kit installed but when I shut it off at the main connection by the water heater I had antifreeze still go in the water heater. My friend looked at it couldn't figure out why there's no shut off the the hot water to bypass. Maybe I'll send you a picture of what it looks like.

Next year I'll buy a hose and attach it to the pump and pump the antifreeze in that way instead of pouring it in the fresh water tank (I followed the manual).

I thought about storing the batteries inside. What do you recommend? Let me know all you do to winterize. I'm still learning about it all.

From jtshad on Tue, Nov 03, 2009 at 17:10:45 from 204.134.132.225

Definitely buy the $3 hose and connect to the pump and go directly from the bottle, much easier and it only took me about 1.5 gallons of antifreeze.

sorry about the trouble with the by-pass, mine has a by-pass valve and it worked fine.

As for the batteries, I have taken mine out and I plan on storing them inside (most likely in the basement). Do a deep cycle charge them just store them away (don't leave on concrete, store sitting on shelf or wood planks on the floor). My batteries seem to have lost there charge so I most likely will be replacing them next spring.

BTW, the by-pass for the hot water heater would likely be accessed through your storage cabinet and on the backside of the water heated behind the paneling in the storage area.

From Kory on Tue, Nov 03, 2009 at 18:03:46 from 134.50.89.55

Thanks Jeff. On your by pass for the Water Heater do you have to turn the valve so it's pointed upward? My has a T pipe connected to the hot and cold on the back side of the water heater with the valve. I know it should work but maybe on did something wrong by not pushing the valve up all the way and when I pumped the antifreeze in, it got in the water heater.

Oh well it won't hurt it I will just have to cycle a lot of water through it in the spring time.

Jeff, do you cover your trailer or air conditioner?

From jtshad on Tue, Nov 03, 2009 at 18:23:23 from 204.134.132.225

No, I haven't covered my AC unit.
