This morning didn't start out good, at 2am this morning I ran to the bathroom and had to vomit. I lost my whole dinner. I think it was because I ate my dinner so fast and ate too much along with the nerves about leaving my family for my trip today.

My run was not very good on an empty stomach when I got up at 6:30am. I couldn't even keep any MP miles because I didn't feel the run. I ran 6.3 miles at an overall pace of 6:47 in 43.05.

(6:27, 6:25, 6:24) were the last three miles.

Forgot to mention I made it to San Jose, California and the city had a 5.6 earthquake yesterday. All the computers were down at most the hotels and businesses today. What a way to be welcomed into the city.

Sorry to hear about the rough day. Hopefully things will improve the next couple days and you can just relax and run a good race. We will keep you in our prayers.

Kory, enjoy the earthquake mania. I went through a 7.0 quake one night when I was staying in a hotel in San Jose back in 1991. Get your energy back and have a great race.

ArmyRunner: I feel better tonight. I took a 20 minute ice bath today just because I haven't done one for a while. I put so much ice in that I couldn't even feel my legs after getting out for about 10 minutes. It was miserable but worth it because the benefits out weight the misery for my 4 mile run tomorrow. Thanks for your prayers I really want to produce a good showing here for Fast Running Blogs.

Paul Ivory: When my wife found out about the earthquake she is now worried. I told her it's nothing. I feel I have my energy back tonight. I need to drink a lot of Gatorade tomorrow to get the carbs in the body.

Take it easy and rest up. You will do great (in the race). Trust in your training and everyone will be asking for your autograph!

Kory,

That quake is just a sign that you're ready to rumble in the marathon! I agree with the earlier suggestion that you focus primarily on competing and possibly going for the win in this race and not give so much emphasis on your finish time. I'll be hoping for the best!
