I went up to millcreek main gate and ran 5 miles up and 5 miles back.  As I was going up a bike wizzed by me and I made it a goal to keep him in my sites.  It got steep and he slowed to a crawl and I passed him and got a good 300 meters ahead of him.  As it started to level out I made it to mile 4 and he passed me again and then there was some more steep parts.   I worked hard to catch him and I could tell he didnt want me to beat him to the top so he got up on his peddles and was working hard.  Just as I kept getting a few meters from him there would be a level area and hed take off and then Id catch him again on the steep.  He ended up beating me by about 100 feet and he was surprised I could keep up.  I told him Id race him to the bottom and he laughed.  I made it up and back in 1 hour and 12 minutes.  I averaged 7:45's up and 6:20 down.  I love that course, its going to be opened tommorrow for traffic. Bummer.

I swam 800 yards this morning.  I did 400 in 7:59, the other in 8:05.  Then I ran 3 miles with a 7:19 pace.  I felt like doo doo and it took me a mile to get my legs to move. My first mile was 7:57, 2nd was 7:19, 3rd was 6:40.  I will try to get out tonight if possible.

I ran 5.5 miles of interval speed workout.  6-200's and 4-400's with lots of rest in between and the last 2 400's with 1 minute rest.  I saw James at the track with a ton of high school kids.  Ahh to be back in high school!

I ran the park trail this morning with Danielle and Misty and it was actually cooler this morning.  It felt good. I ended up with 6 miles in 50 minutes. Then I went to Dimple Dell and swam 800 yards without stopping.  I did it in 16:15.

I ran the Blacksmith Fork Canyon 15k today, my goal was to try and keep Josh Steffen in my sites and see if I had enough to strike at the end. My goal was to run a 5:35 Average and I met that goal. The keeping up with Josh was not acheived!  He is a freekin' amazing runner.  He has come a long way in a short time.  He ended up in second behind I think his name is Lane or something like that.  Carson Cambell was up there also and was a 1/4 mile ahead of me most the way.  I got a PR today in the 15k and I had Cody Draper to thank for it.  He came up the canyon on his bike and assisted me with some water and encouragement as I ran.  I was about 12th overall at the 3 mile mark and chewed my way slowly to 6th place from alot of high school kids dropping there times after 3 or 4 miles.   When I  overtook the 6th place it was the hardest.  I dont know who the runner was but he had me up the hill at the end and was putting distance on me and then stopped and puked!  I caught him and cody kept an eye on him while I had 2 miles to go.  It was a rough 2 miles knowing he had some strength left and he chewed up my gap of 200 feet to a few seconds.  I had a half a mile to go and I pushed as hard as I could and kept him from striking distance and finished in 51:57! YES! Thanks Cody! although I felt like jumping on your bike in a few spots.  Just let me know when you want me to return the favor!  Ill help you PR anytime!  Congrats to Josh and His Wife Meagan who won for the Women!  Awesome. Now get yourself on this Blog!  I know your reading this!

I drove to first Dam up logan canyon and ran up the canyon until I caught the trail and did 4 miles up and 4 miles back.  It was a nice slow pace and it was windy.  I caught part of the newspaper article from the Herald journal of the race yesterday and it commented on the results and said the names of the 4 other guys that beat me overall and called me a marathon veteran.  Wow, Im not worthy!  I thought that was a nice gesture for a me.
