I went up to the capitol and ran 18 miles.  I ran the avenues for 6 miles and then went up City Creek Canyon for  6 and then 6 down.  My last mile was at tempo speed and I had the canyon slope to help me with a 5.04 mile.  My total time was 1hour and 58 minutes.  The uphill was pretty hard this morning, I was doing 8-8:30 miles up and I was doing 6-6:30 down.

Good job Walter! Did all my HILL talk make you crave them, or what?

I think you are as fast as those olympic dudes were last night! You should win next Saturday, for sure. I will be cheering for you from miles away!

Have a good weekend!

From Jody on Sat, Aug 16, 2008 at 12:20:53

Great job! Those are some speedy miles!

Yes, I needed to do some hills and I was going to drive down to Lake Powell last night late to join up with a party in progress with friends but my girls decided against me! Thats what you get when you are grossly outnumbered 4 to 1! Yes, dont I wish I could run like those Olympians. I only have to shave 30 minutes off my marathon times!

Thanks Jody and Kelli for the comments I hope you enjoy Hobblecreek

Walter, that sounds like a fun run. The group has done an Avenues/City Creek run the past two years. We already did it for this year, but maybe we could work it in again, who knows? Great job today!

Cheryl, I really like running in the avenues early on saturday and it just worked out good to do it this morning. I look forward to running with you more! You guys are all great runners and fun to be around. We need to recruit more guys, where are all the South Jordan runners at?

From Kelli on Sun, Aug 17, 2008 at 16:25:47

I will bring my husband---he is a guy!

That would be great Kelli! The more the merrier. We need some balance. See if he's willing to come hang out with me at my house too. Im grossly out numbered in my house. My wifes sister lives with us now so its 5 to 1 ratio.

As long as you do not make him do the dishes, he will be there. Life would be better than here that way! I don't do dishes or clean up after dinner (very often, anyway). I also do not mop floors. Those are his manly chores!

From walter on Sun, Aug 17, 2008 at 19:04:54

Oh there will be dishes to be done!
