I ran 6 miles this morning on the park trail starting at gardner villiage out 3 miles to murray and back.  It was dusk when I started and there were a ton of nats and flying critters!  I ate a couple, some went in my eyes, some in my ears and im just glad my shorts were on!  This concludes my morning run. out

I hear bugs are high in protein... they're very annoying when they get in the eyes though.

From Walter on Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 11:04:26

Yeah, I think I found a new protein add for Jamba juice!? It is the worst when you get them in your eyes. It was actually humid here also which is rare for SLC and its desert climate. I dont know how you guys do it back east!?

From Lucia on Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 11:13:47

Yeah, better than hornet juice!

They can get pretty bad here; we're right by the Potomac: lots of dirty water for bugs to live by... I've been meaning to buy some clear glasses to run and bike with, because they get in my eyes so bad sometimes.

From Walter on Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 11:43:40

Clear glasses is a good idea. I think the bugs were thicker when it was dusk because once the sun came out it was fine. Theres always something to complain about right!?

From wheakory on Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 11:52:25

At least you got your protein today from the extra fly breakfast. Great run... I use sunglasses in the morning and they help. Good luck on the rest of the day.

From Lucia on Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 11:54:30

Exactly - it seems the older we get, the more we find to complain about :)

Jeff--You better watch out for me now im on a tight regime! Im glad they werent mosquitos, I hate mosquitos.

Lucia, You are so right! Thats why I had to give Jeff a hard time. Im not too far off myself so I will definately be the old geyser on the porch yelling at the punk kids to get off my lawn. Then the bags of poop that I once left will come to my porch and its a visious cycle! Maybe Ill still have a little speed in me to try and catch them.?

From Jody on Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 13:56:15

Yuck bugs!! I haven't had to much trouble here, but a couple of years ago we where in DC and I ran at the mall at dusk and the bugs were terrible - eyes, mouth hair - YUCK!

From Walter on Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 19:08:28

Yeah, im glad I dont have alot of hair to tangle the bugs in. Imagine riding a bike on the park trail!? Hows the humidity there? Its actually a bit humid here so hence the bugs. Hope your having fun!
