Had the family party last night at my house and had a huge sleep over.  I got to bed at 1 last night knowing I had to sleep because I was running at 6 am this morning. I met Danielle, Bill, Misty and Charity at the park trail on 126th and ran south for 4 miles. Ive never run that direction before. It was really nice and the wind didnt affect me as much because its down in the gully more. I had fun running at an extremely slow pace that really wasnt that hard to pace. Our average was 10 min mile pace but we walked for about 2 minutes at the start and we stopped to take our layers off which took a few more minutes and then on the way back grabbed our clothes and had a good conversation. Very fun. Im glad im back. My legs were sore after 6 miles but Im just glad to be able to run right now.

I heard a song in the car ride over that said "Should I give up, or should I just keep chasing pavement." I will dub that my song from now on! Im going to look up the author right after I log this. Very true! Cheers all and if your so inclined, look at my fridays blog for kicks. If you look at burts week, he has me looking like Gilligan, but in my pride I have to say Nicholas cage is a better suit. lol

Nice miles Walter.

"Chasing Pavements" by ADELE.

From fishfly on Sun, Dec 14, 2008 at 17:32:33

Thanks for the welcome.

I should be able to figure out how to add to my blog details soon.

As a quick intro, I am 48 year old American who works and lives in Bali.

Used to do triathlons and running races, but slipped back to smoking and drinking on the beach. Now committed to stopping that nonsense and getting back to the shape I prefer. Round is a shape, but not the one I prefer. LOL

Running with my wife is helping me to keep my pace down to build up endurance. speed will come later.

Thanks again for the welcome.

Fishfly, its always good to exercise and stay fit. It should help with not smoking if your running. I know what you mean though about going in a direction that you werent intending on. This blog will help you keep track of your progress. Youll see where you were very quickly. Good luck.

Hey, that is my personal blog page song!!!! LOVE IT!!

I am glad that you are back and running and enjoying the pace that the rest of us so love!!!

From walter on Sun, Dec 14, 2008 at 23:31:46

Tina, thanks for allowing me the privilege! I will keep on chasing!

Kelli, you have a personal blog page? was it you that told me your sister is in my ward? I thought it was and made a fool out of myself today. I swear this lady looks just like you! Her name is Tammy Thompson. I said do you have a sister named Kelli and she told me no. Well, then I found your twin! lol

From Kelli on Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 18:44:32

I think I am the most unique looking person out there---but people ALWAYS think I look like someone else. HMMM.....

Michelle's brother is in your ward.

From walter on Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 19:19:05

Kelli, you are a unique person! I thought I made the connection and was denied. Thats ok, better luck on the next go around! lol

Walter - 8 miles... it's like you never stopped running! Check you out. I bet Gilligan couldn't do that! Burt cracks me up. When he did the celebrity look alikes for the entire office, he compared one of the owners to Lord Farquaad, from Shrek(http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0002008/) and another of the owners to Pee Wee Herman. LOL

From walter on Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 23:56:05

Camille, I know, I had a chuckle with my family! Very funny! He never stops does he!? However, my girls tell me they think I look like nicholas over gilligan. so there! lol
