Well I woke up sick still but had committed to run with Danielle this morning on the park trail at 9800 s. I started out feeling like a slug. Then after 2 miles my legs started feeling tight and then at mile 4 I felt like quitting but didnt. We went North at the start to see how far the trail has progressed. We made it about 3/4 of  a mile which is nice. It used to stop right there off of 98th. Now its close to 9200 so.  We then turned around and ran all the way to 115th s. where the trail ends there also. Then came back to 98th. It was a total of 6.3 miles but felt ok. I had a bit of pain but not enough to worry that im hurting myself. It was brutal cold on that trail! It felt like it was in the teens. Cheers all!

Oh, hey!!!! You are running!!! YEAH!!!

From walter on Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 10:31:53

I probably should be doing less but I feel good enough for what ive done. 10 miles in 4 days isnt too much so I think Ill run on Saturday again and maybe hit 6 miles again. Then Ill renew my rec pass and start the swimming!

From seeaprilrun on Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 11:37:50

Congrats on getting out and running again! Yup, it's cold! Winter is here!

From walter on Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 12:13:11

Thanks April, its amazing what you can do when you just do it huh? You know starting to run is exactly...well not exactly but close to the analogy of quitting smoking. You start running and the next day you cant because your tired or sluggish or whatever the excuse. I guess Im starting cold turkey but every other day im falling back. As to quitting smoking everyday you long for a smoke. I think you have battled two hard things here! Im only trying to battle 1! But I cant run everyday until my doc says the yes. Im going to take some flowers to her next time I go. I think it will help. lol

Way to get out and go even when you don't want to!! Take it easy though you don't want to have any more troubles :)

Walter,

You are amazing. Keep up the great work be careful not to over do it though.

From walter on Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 19:13:27

Matt, Thanks alot, so when are you going to come join the BBK group? Or have you done it already? I wanted to do their hill workout this morning so bad but knew it would hurt me. I did spy on them though. I was running on the park trail that runs along the area they were at. Funny huh? Im jealous! Checking up on them!

From Matt on Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 19:38:15

I'll do it anytime and I know they wake up pleanty early. Let me know when you start running with them again and if I haven't heard from Peggy or Cheryl by then I'll hook up with you.

From kungfublonde on Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 19:58:27

Yay- you're running! And not just a sad little two miles like I'm hoping to do tomorrow :) Take care of yourself and don't push it too much so soon!

From walter on Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 21:14:49

Okie dokie Matt! Itll be a while yet. I have to get my miles back up. I am being careful in my mind.

Rache, Im runnin' baby! Your sad little 2 miles wont be sad after all! You know why? Because! Ill think of something alright?

From kungfublonde on Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 21:19:22

haha- I know Walter. They won't be sad. They won't be impressive, but I will be very, very HAPPY to run them!

From walter on Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 21:28:54

Heck yeah youll be happy to run them. I wanted to cry last saturday when I pulled off 4 miles. It was emotional! Ill feel the vibe when you do it! Be safe! careful out there and careful to yourself by gads. Everyone including yourself has told me to be careful so follow that advice! Cheers, Ill see you in the funnies.

From Teena on Fri, Dec 12, 2008 at 01:05:09

Walter,

Oh man!! How cool is that? 6.3 miles!! Very nice indeed!!

From walter on Fri, Dec 12, 2008 at 09:21:38

Tina, its about time huh? I probably shouldnt have pushed that many miles but Danielle and I were talking so much that when she checked her watch, it was at 5 miles so it happened to end up at 6.3 when we made it back. Do you know our last mile was a 6:50 pace? I dont know how that happened but we were pushing each other without realizing it.

From Teena on Fri, Dec 12, 2008 at 10:06:31

6:50 pace?

Yeah, no way I am running with you!!

From walter on Fri, Dec 12, 2008 at 10:11:31

Trust me it wont happen again. not for a while! I was freezing and just wanted to get it over with. Tomorrow Im going to do a nice slow 9 min mile pace again. It feels good to run again Tina! My legs have alot of cobwebs on them! lol How you doing?

From Teena on Fri, Dec 12, 2008 at 10:13:25

I'm doing alright ... of course I wish I were healing faster.

I am taking today off (of exercising) and concentrating on a bunch of stuff that I need to get done.
