Wish our bodies would just fully cooperate with the running all the time! My right leg goes through waves of feeling great then getting tight all over. Never puts me out but just annoying.

From walter on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 10:44:28

Yeah, the past 3 years have been one thing after the other. It is annoying. I totally felt what Clyde was going through earlier this year because I went through it too around the same time. You just have to break through it.

From kristagirl on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 10:44:33

Thank's for the welcome! I really enjoyed both the half and the full at PF Changs! My first half was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Sorry to hear about your port-a-john problems. That's hasn't happened to me yet, but I'm sure I just jinxed myself so we'll see what happens on Sunday!

From walter on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 11:02:07

I really liked the full marathon if I wasnt as sick, I would have had a better experiance. I still loved having a band every mile. Dont worry, you didnt jinx yourself. Youll do fine. Good luck, I have a half marathon Im doing on the 23rd. Do you live in Minesota then? I have an uncle in Westbrook minnesota that used to own the Ford dealership called Klasse sales and service. He now sales used and has a rv dealership.

From Kelli on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 11:16:49

Oh NO!!!! See, never run with me, you will end up in pain! Hope it heals quickly, I am sure you will be fine listening to your long list of injuries---you are tough, aka CRAZY!

From Lucia on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 11:28:23

Left leg giving you trouble? Cut it off, I say. Who needs legs anyways... :)

From walter on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 11:36:36

Kelli, it wasnt you. It was the bling I had under my shirt. jk Im telling you if I had a great big WB or even W it would be awesome!

Lucia that is soo hurtful lol your just jealous that im putting in your miles for you

From Kelli on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 13:52:59

I will special order you a BIG GOLD "W" (a full "WB" would weigh you down too much!)

I will work on arranging the limo, and I will hire a bunch of teenagers to scream when you get out. I will even roll out the red carpet myself. You will be famous (for a small moment, anyway)!!

Hey, what makes one "elite", by the way? If that is your goal, how do you get there? Just curious, I think you are pretty ELITE by definition--"The best or most skilled members of a group." I am thinking you have proven that one with your race finishes!!

(You can pay me for posting that later.)

From walter on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 16:50:04

Ok kelli, first off, what is your fee for flattery. I think that would be fun to get a group of people and do the limo thing. Holy crap I would have the hardest time keeping a straight face trying not to laugh as I got out of the limo bling first maybe playing, "lonely, im mr. lonely" loud and then helping out all my friends with their bling (hopefully). Even if it wasnt a race it would be the funniest.

We could do it for a training run!!

I have missed you today---are you working for a change??? That was a joke!

I have been stuck in my basement with my kids because we had the carpets cleaned this morning upstairs. I do not want to step on them until they are dry!! So, I have been wandering aimlessly on the internet, taking naps, eating wheat thins, watching SpongeBob, more internet, and so on!!! BORING day---I almost think I would rather be running! (I said almost!)

But, I have made some new friends in my already crowded circle...

From walter on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 17:04:35

Yes, problems with work so I had to go babysit and they are working in Clearfield and the traffic freakin' sucks. Those construction workers should have to go through the pain that we go through to lose time out of our day for them. I'll have to think of what we can do to punish them. No beer on the weekends! there that'll do it! Sorry your bored, you should have went for a run! Have you tried running in the heat yet? Remember SGM gets pretty hot during the morning. You should practice a few hot runs.

From Kelli on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 17:10:42

I pass out in the heat...so look for me on the side of the road in ST George.

And, that really is unfortunate that you should have to work. No more stay at home dad...sad, sad, sad.

I should get a life, and I will when my kids get back in school. You would think I would sit around more with just one kid at home, but I do not. WE PLAY!!!

Back to serious---does it really get hot? How hot? I was kind of thinking it would not go over 75 by 11:00 when I roll through the finish line. Is it hotter?

From Jody on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 17:15:48

Kelli - I am afraid to tell you it will probably be hotter :(

From Kelli on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 17:20:47

Thanks, Jody, just more proof that i am an idiot. But, I am comfortable with that!

I wonder how hot it was in Logan last year. I think once you get to the point that it actually gets hot, you are so sick of running that that is really all you are thinking about, that and finishing. The heat doesn't even really register. I did not even notice it had gotten hot in Logan until my husband pointed it out.

So, how hot does it get in October in St George? Maybe we should move it to November. I am good with that.

From Jody on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 17:26:37

Kelli - They have days in the 90's. This is still early October so they have cooled off for them, but compared to the us northerners - it is like August.

From Kelli on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 17:31:44

Great. I quit. Want my spot, Jody? You can pretend to be me.

Just kidding. I will just have to run really fast and beat the heat! Or walk really slow and enjoy all of the free food and drink along the way!

From walter on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 17:44:23

I remember Deseret news marathon 2 years ago was 89 degrees at 5 am. The finish was close to 100! Now that is hot! Kelli, are you going to do a half soon?

From MarcieJ on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 18:18:11

Kelli,

It just depends on the year. Last year it was actually a little chilly. I wore my long sleeve for the first 4 mi and wish I would have kept it longer. At the finish line my husband brought me a blanket to wrap up in and I was still cold. There has been other years when it has gotten warm but its never to bad but then again I am used to running in warm weather and actually dont mind it too much. We will see what this year brings though:)

From Kelli on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 18:19:11

Yes, that is too hot. I am sure people DID pass out.

Hobble Creek, next week.

From walter on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 20:17:59

Yeah, last year they didnt have our clothes ready at the finish and a girl lent me her blanket and I had it for about 30 minutes before my clothes came. People were asking me where I got the blanket and after I found my bag, people were begging me for it.
