Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 17, and 18.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

7.5 miles. hood route. It was slightly cooler, with a breeze, and no dead fish stink. We still have big humidity, big dew point, and I came home soaked. But this was a bit better than "awful" conditions, so I'm trying to be positive. The local news this weekend made a big deal about September 2018 being the hottest on record. 

Race day starting time weather is projected to be 66 deg., 89% hum., and 63 dew point.  And since I make it rain everywhere I go, storms are projected to start at noon. I received my shirt and bib in the mail Saturday, since I wont be in town long enough to pick them up before the race. Pretty cool stuff. Like out of nowhere I'm getting excited about this race again.

Towpath Marathon. Marathon #12. Unbelievable beautiful course. I tried to take as much of it in while I was out there. It was very hot and humid. 79 deg., 74% hum., 70 d.p. at finish. Pancake flat, just like home. Certainly above local averages for race day. I knew it wasn't going to be a great race for me, but I gave it my best shot. It was a great trip.

3.5 miles. Hood route. I was going to wait until tomorrow to get back to it, but the temperatures dropped 5 degrees overnight. You take what you can get around here. Besides I felt good enough to run by Wednesday. Maybe I should have resumed running sooner!

A new workout routine I've been thinking about doing with my sons. Some jogging, some sprinting, some pushups, some situps. Left hip is still a bit grind-ey. Also 90+ degrees. Come on! 100% hum., and I have never seen this high of a dew point, but (according to weather underground), it's a 88 degree dew point. I mean, like August down here.
