Ughhhh.....I'm feeling a bit defeated today.  My ankle (the one I got the stress fracture in) has been aching just a bit.  Sometimes, I wonder if it is a phantom ache or for real!  But I've been coming back so slow (I haven't increased my speed more than 10% a week, shoes are good, rest week every 3 weeks), so I don't know how I would have refractured it.

I had planned on doing my first speed workout of the season (4x400).  I probably shouldn't have done it today...I wasn't in the right frame of mind, I ran it alone, the wind was out of control, and it was speed.

But I ran to the track and battled the wind and it wasn't the best workout ever.

I wanted to do more of a warm up and cool down, but it was windy and raining and I was feeling a bit grumpy about the situation.

I think I will take the next day or 2 off just to see how things feel.

Hope things are feeling well today. Those phantom pains are the worst! You never know what to do about them, especially so much further down the line! I'm doing the same thing with my quad/hip flexor these past couple weeks - finally made the PT appointment. I think your idea to rest and see how it goes is a VERY smart thing! You in for Saturday still? I have to go early, but it will still be good (snow and bad weather always makes it memorable).
