That is a nice ride Tim! I am always amazed when I look at triathlon results & see people avg between 18-22 mph! I maybe maintain 18 with an all out effort over a shorter distance, but it is usually more like 14-15 for a ride! Guess I need to ride more ... maybe it has something to do with my bike being a Wal-mart blue light special, instead of a $4,000 racing machine! lol Gotta love the classic Schwinn Varsity though for $149!
That is a great follow-up to your 6 mile run ... hope that foot is holding strong.

Hey JG - thanks. Yeah my thirty+ year old Schwinn isn't up to par. I would love to try a decent road bike some day, but I am too cheap to foot the bill. At least I'm not riding my wife's heavy Target mountain bike anymore.
The foot is fine, I guess. Will try it later today for 2-3.

30 years old ...That is funny! :) A friend of mine talked me into a Century ride last year for breast cancer ... when I showed up for a training ride with her about a month before the ride, she laughed at me & told me I couldn't ride 100 miles on my old mountain bike! I went to Wal-Mart & the Varsity was on sale ... that was the last road bike I owned ... about 30 years ago ... so I got one! The difference was unbelievable.

yeah 100 on a mtn bike would be rough. I think what I really need is some clips or something for the pedals.

Yeah ... that was the one upgrade I did to my Varsity, clips ... and they really help. I was doing Spin class a lot last year to train for St. George (and my Century) the Spin instructor recommended them. So I actually got the shoes before I had a bike for them! I highly recommend them!
