5 miles: 1 warm-up, 3 @ 6:53, 1 cool-down Early morning meeting today so decided I would try to run a fast three miles with a nice mile warm-up and cool-down. Haven't run a crazy hard three miles in a row for quite some time. I was nervous but it went better than expected. The only real mistake I made was stopping immediately after the hard three (instead of jogging right into my cool down). For the first time in years I was in puke zone and I almost hurled a lung! As I am now in my forties this "puke zone" pace has become not nearly as enjoyable as it was in my thirties. :) I know that many run faster than I do but for me this was a great pace. I was happy. :) |
