5 miles: 1 warm-up, 3 @ 6:53, 1 cool-down

Early morning meeting today so decided I would try to run a fast three miles with a nice mile warm-up and cool-down. Haven't run a crazy hard three miles in a row for quite some time. I was nervous but it went better than expected. The only real mistake I made was stopping immediately after the hard three (instead of jogging right into my cool down). For the first time in years I was in puke zone and I almost hurled a lung! As I am now in my forties this "puke zone" pace has become not nearly as enjoyable as it was in my thirties. :)

I know that many run faster than I do but for me this was a great pace. I was happy. :)

Nice job, Teena. I can't even imagine what it would be like to run that pace.

The last time I hit the "Puke Zone" was at the Hooper Tomoato Days 5k a few years ago...Maybe 5 years ago. It's a good and bad feeling t the same time.

Wow, a "PUKE ZONE" run. That name could catch on kinda like a Tempo run or a Fartlick. Congrats on the great effort in the speed training......36 days till Boston, get out your finest Monday running gear.....

Dale, I haven't hit that zone for so long that I wasn't expecting it. In fact I totally forgot how it felt. I'm in no rush to feel it again. :-)
