| 3 miles @ 8:30 pace. 1 mile walking (.5 to warm up/.5 cooldown). 2 miles on elliptical therefore completing 60 minutes of cardio. Still fighting the right knee. Can't get into the orthopedic until the 16th. Hopefully he'll be able to help. | Add Comment |

| 4.5 treadmill miles at the gym. Started out with .25 mile walk to warm up the knee. I then ran 2 miles at an 8:30 pace, 1 mile at an 8:19 pace and 1 mile at a 9:13. Ended with .25 mile cooldown. Overall I felt pretty good. My knee is a bit swollen and sore but that seems to be the norm these days. | Comments(2) |

| Spent the day at lagoon. Had a great time walked a lot. Got home around 10:30 and still needed to go get my car at my dad's house, so the hubby and I ran over. It was a great run. Ran 2 miles down unfinished 114th south. Loved running at night. | Comments(1) |

| 6.5 mi on the treadmill in 59:45. Started at a 6.0 (10 min/mi). Ended at 8.7 (6:53 pace). Walked .1 mi every mile (.5 mi total). +.5 mi cool down walk. Running has been such a challenge lately. I can't seem to get up early enough to run outside so I'm stuck on the dreadmill and my knee is still driving me nuts. I love the feeling of a great run and have really missed it. | Add Comment |

| Went on a walking date with the hubby. Walked to dinner and then along JRP. I wish these were running miles but right know any miles on my old legs are pretty good. We kept a pretty brisk pace and had great conversation. | Comments(1) |

| 7 treadmill miles at the gym. Ran 6 miles is 51.50 for an AP of 8:38. I started out at a 9:13 pace and ended with a 7:30 pace. .3 mile warm-up and .7 mile cool down for the additional mile. The hubby wanted to continue playing basketball so I walked home from the gym (1 more mile). I was suppose to go to the orthopedic today but we had a mix up as to where he was located (he works in PC but the address I found using my Blackberry said SL) Once I figured it out (10 minutes before my appt. time) they told me not to bother driving up to PC I would be too late and they wouldn't see me- they wanted to reschedule in a month. I am so frustrated I could scream.

| 3 treadmill miles in 24.30. I ran the last .5 mi @ a 6.35 pace. Did a slow .1 mile warm up and a .9 mile cool down. Overall I felt really good. Running on my knee is strange though. It doesn't feel very stable so I have to run with a very guarded gate especially when I pick up the pace. I don't think my gate is affecting anything else but I'm defiantly watching it. Hoping to get an outside run in soon. | Comments(1) |

| Got up at 4:45 and headed to the gym to run with their run club. They didn't head out until 5:30 so I did some upper body work and a .5 mile warm up. We then took off for the run. We ran JRP over to 126th then up to 13th W and back to the gym. Miles with the group 5.3 with an AP of 8:15. Splits: 8:34, 8:29, 8:50, 7:42, 7:48, and 7:53 (.3 mile). I then ran 1.7 slow miles (9:37 and 9:16 pace) by myself and walked .5 miles to cool down. Felt great to get outside and run. My knee felt pretty good while I was running although it is rather sore nice. Hopefully ice and ibuprofen will help. | Comments(1) |

| Had hoped to get out and run this morning but the kids decided to get up early so I ended up taking them to the gym and running on the treadmill. I started out really slow (6.0) and slowly increased the speed until I was running at a 6:37 pace (9.0). I then slowly eased back to a 7:30 pace and ran two miles at this speed, then I slowed down to an 8:00 pace and ran 2 miles. When all was said and done my AP for 8 miles was a 7:50. I finished by walking a mile to cool down. It's amazing what a difference a day makes. Yesterdays run was bordering on torture. I only enjoyed it because I was with my husband. Today's run on the other hand was easy. Even the fast paces weren't a problem. I debated running further because I was feeling good but decided to play it safe and not over do. My right knee seems to be doing better. The faster paces are less painful and the swelling seems to be slowly going away.

| Hadn't planned on running today. Left the house with the plan of walking over to the gym and cross training but the construction traffic was so heavy on 114th I didn't dare walk down it so I thought I would jog over to the trail head (1 mile away). I felt so good I continued to run a little loop therefore logging 4 miles. The heat didn't even bother me and I started my run at 10:00. No watch, no garmin... so I have no idea my pace. | Comments(1) |

| Ran without a watch so I had no idea of pace during the race. From the start I counted 5 women ahead of me, I was able to pass one on a big hill but then I was passed by one. I didn't push too hard because I didn't want to aggravate the knee. On one hand I'm proud of myself for not pushing too hard therefore allowing me to continue training without injury, on the other hand I'm disappointed that I didn't finish with a better time and at least win my age division (the women who passed me was in my age group and only beat me by about 10 seconds- I could have easily caught her). After I finished I jogged back and finished with my daughter. She did great. When we got back to the cabin I took the kids for a walk down to the river (1 mile). I ended up carrying my two year old. At the river my two year old caught 3 fish and my daughter played in the river- floating down in her life jacket. It was a riot watching the kids experience new things. | Comments(1) |

Ran over to 126th through the apartments, down to the river trail and back up 114th.
Met with the Dr. Skedros today concerning my knee. He feels that the ACL repair I had done 20 years ago has started to fail. He thinks I need to have it redone, unfortunately I have two screws in it, so he said I will first have to have the screws removed and bone grafts put in. I will then need to wait approximately six month for the grafts to take and then I can have the ACL repair done. He ordered an MRI to be done to confirm his suspicions. He also told me he would not do the surgery so I am still looking for an orthopedic surgeon. I'm not sure what I think about Skedros' prognosis. My knee has been swollen now for over a year- I would love to have it feel right again but I also know how torturous ACL surgery/recovery can be. It will be interesting to see if the MRI confirms his suspicions. On the bright side, I was pleased to hear he saw very little arthritis on the x-ray.
