9:30am run  Ran to the Dixie Center then past St George Ford then up Tonaquint Drive then went right on Bloomington Drive to home. Good steady run. I stopped at the Dixie Center for a pit stop then ran non stop to home. I am really working on keeping the runs continuous without walk breaks....so far so good. 8:09 pace Didn't want to push very hard today, just keep good and easy pace.....

What A beautiful day in St. George!

This was a very positive race for me. My goal was to hit 1:37:00. I went out just a little fast the first mile but kept the effort minimal. Really I was only 20 seconds fast. I held on well on the downhill and the breathing was great. Up the West Canyon portion wasn't too bad but did take some out of me. I held exactly as I had planned on that section. Coming down I held pretty good and just did not want to stop. At mile 10 my left foot started to hurt. Just kept pushing but did stop as we went under the Snow Canyon parkway. I pulled the shoe off and slopped some Wintercrest under my foot on the sock then took off. Probably lost about45 seconds to a minute. That was a great investment of time. That took the pain totally away! I pushed hard through Entrada not wanting to have a repeat of last year on that section. I held it and just kept pushing. I really did not look at my time until I crossed the finish line and I was pumped...1:35

Splits: 5:56/ 6:12/ 7:01/ 7:57/ 8:04/ 7:10/ 7:48/ 7:13/ 7:24/ 7:38/ 8:19(fix foot) 7:17/ 7:11/ 6:51 Average pace 7:19

PS I missed my HobbleCreek PR by 23 seconds and this is a much more difficult course.

RACE COMMENTS:

Not sure if I liked the split format with the women starting 45 minutes early. By the time they got to the awards almost everyone was gone. It took away some of the competitivness, you never really knew who you were racing against. When you went across the finish line there were no finisher medals. Then finally they said go over by the food table to get them...poor. It took over a hour and a half to post any results for the men because a lot of men ran the earlier start time and that messed everything up. The clothing retreval was a bunch of bags lined up in no order, everyone complaining about that. At least the race started on time, loved the chip timing.

Dixie Center and back. Legs are sore...whole body is sore. I went out and threw the baseball around with my daughter's fiance this morning before the run....arm hurts...LOL

I gradually felt better on the run but still tired. It felt good to get faster each mile.

Dixie Center and back

Pushed harder today to see where my endurance was at.

7:47/ 7:10/ 7:14/ 7:32/ 7:07  7:22 average pace

The breathing was harder for me than on Monday but that is because I was pushing it much harder. I had to keep talking myself in to keeping the pace up the last 2 miles. 2 women on roller blades took off from the Dixie Center just before I started. I tried to stay with them but couldn't do it. They beat me by about 20 seconds. I was just holding around 7:20 pace for that 2 miles.....hind sight, I should have really tried to hammer those 2 miles and caught them. I have never road killed a rollerblader...next time! LOL

I got up early and ran out through Warner Valley. I started just above Staheli Farm. The first 2 miles were on the paved road. I was looking for Matt Ferguson who was running out there this morning. I thought that I was running late so took off. I went out 5 1/2 miles then turned around. After a couple of miles Matt and I crossed paths. I was sure glad that I wasn't running 30 miles with him. It was cool and moist this morning. I stopped by to see the guys before they headed out on the Club run.

9:00 pace for the run. It was dark the entire run and I could never really see my footing until I got back on the road for the last 2 miles.

I didn't really set out to run very fast today. Went out @ 2:00 and it was beautiful! Ran with music for the first time in over a year...was kind of nice. Maybe that is why I ran faster. Listened to Kansas on the way out and Earth, Wind and Fire on the way back.

Dixie Center run: Warmed up easy then pushed for a good mile plus then backed off to Marathon pace to the end. At the 2 mile mark after climbing a small hill, I looked down and my garmin said 4:59. I had concentrated so hard on getting up the hill that when I moce over the crest I was pumping much harder than I thought.....it felt good!

8:16/ 7:23/ 7:05/ 8:01/ 7:54   7:43 pace

Looks like Mesquite is a go for me. I plan on having an enjoyable run and not a hard race. Shoot for somewhere around 3:45.

I ran the Mesquite Marathon this morning, a last minute decision. I went down to just have a fun run with no pressure. I got close to Mesquite and realized that I had left my garmin at home....Ticked off!

Overall: Tough course, especially the last 12 miles.

I had a giant PR by 10 1/2 minutes over St. George! 3:28:26 and placed 2nd in my age group, there were at least 22 in the group that had signed up maybe more.

I have no splits just a great PR and BQ.

Went ou8t for a cold bike ride this morning. Needed to shake out the legs. I am feeling very good for 2 days after a marathon. If i didn't have a stupid blister between the ball of my foot and my toes i would be running not biking. It is all good!! Time to take it easy and just enjoy the time of the year and be thankful for my blessings!

SIDE NOTE: I just noticed that I went over 2000 miles for the year! Yeah

Race: Collin's Turkey Day Trail Run (5.83 Miles) 00:51:28

Got up this morning to run the Turkey Chase trail run in Santa Clara. That was a fun run and a great way to start of the day. My legs were still pretty trashed from the marathon but decided to run it anyway. Nothing exciting about the time for sure but to finish the race was the only goal for the day. Thanks Collins for putting this together, hopfully next year we can get a bigger group together.

The run was on the Barrel Roll trail in Santa Clara. The first 3 plus miles were mostly up hill but then the last 2 miles were very nice to finish with the downhill. This kind of a run helps me realize the difference between trail running and road running. They both have their positives and negatives.....

Ran out through Warner Valley and went out to Fort Pearce. I stopped there and walked around the fort...kind of cool!

Ran an average of 8:39 overall. The last mile was at 6:24 pace...tons of cars driving down the road the last mile....ate a lot of dust!
