Today I had early morning practice with cross country. we had to run 4 200s and 4 400s around the track. I was super worn out at the end. I had a really hard time doing them. I am NOT good at speed workouts!!!!! i breath waaay heavier than anyone who was around me. i am not good at that stuff! in PE i ran a mile. after school we ran up to This Is The Place park. I took the shorter route. Then Bill had us run all around trying to figure out where he should have the route of the race tomorrow set out. After he had figured it out, he told us to run it again and head back to the track. I ran about half of it and went back with olivia because my knees were killing and her IT band was hurting. I was very tired after all of that and was ready to just go take a nap! this turned out to be 11.5 miles for me.

Today was a meet at This is The Place park. I ran about a mile warm up, and then for the race it was some loop around a parking lot, up and down some hills a bunch of times, and running on a bunch of loose gravel. The gravel was super hard to run on because you kept sinking into it. It sort of felt like I was running on sand. During the race, I started off really good and started to crash after the first mile 1/2. I tried my best. when i was done, I did a half mile cool down.

Today was the BYU race. I did about a mile warm up, and then raced. the race was probably around 3 miles. I started off a little fast, but I managed to run the whole way. (that is an accomplishment for me believe it or not.) I ran at a faster pace than I usually would. towards the end, I started to crash, like I usually do on races, but it was later than I expected. I ran through it, mostly because bill kept yelling at me not to stop, and i didn't want him to be mad at me for stopping. I really wanted to be in top 30, but i did better than i usually would so i'm happy anyway. I improved on my time compared to the this is the place park race by 3 minutes! this was about 5 miles.

today i had to do the workout on my own for a little while because i had an orthodontist appointment. i ran from my house to the track which was about 1.5 miles. then i ran 6 800s, all around 3 minutes 30 seconds. the first 3 were all really close or right on. the last ones i got slower. the 4th i got 2 seconds slower, the 5th i got 5 seconds slower, and the 6th  i got 7 seconds slower. I was really tired towards the end. That is why i was so slow. But i made sure I kept running. Then i took a small break and ran back home. It turned out to be about 7 1/4 miles.

Today was the race at murray. I did a lot better than I usually would! I was actually shocked that I was first from East in the rookie race. I did a warm up that was around a mile, and then had to quickly line up for the race, seeing as my race was the first race, and i was a little late. Yeah, I missed the bus. pretty stupid of me, huh? I feel really bad about that. well, in the race I didn't start off sprinting like i did in the other races. I still was fast, but not quite as fast. I ended up being in the middle of the group, and I was blocked in for a little bit. once things started to get a little wider i started to pass people. The part that wore me out the most was going up this huge hill that went on for what seemed like forever. I slowed down, but Bill kept yelling at me to keep going and pass people and all that jazz. I passed Olivia and Jesse and I was really shocked and so I thought that I must be going too fast and that I might start to crash any second. but I just kept going. Then I passed Annie, and Bill started to yell at both of us and told us to keep passing people. He said that we might be able to get medals. I passed a few people, and then I realized how close I was to the finish line and I started to sprint. I sprinted so hard that I thought I was going to pass out. I couldn't feel my arms or my legs. the cheers from the crowd was all mushed together. It was kinda scary. I recovered when I was under this pavilion thing about 6 minutes later. I did a little over a 1/2 mile cool down. It was a pretty good race! I got 29th overall and was the first from East. My time was 22:14.
