AM: Felt surprisingly decent this morning. 4.5 miles easy PM: Legs didn’t feel so great later on but it’s all good. 2 mile warmup and strides. Workout was 4x400s with 4 minutes recovery, 4x200s with 2 minutes recovery, and 8x100s with 30 second recovery. 400s: 71, 73, 74, 76 200s: 35, 34, 35, 35 100s: 17, 17, 18, 17, 18, then my watch died but same effort for the next 3. 1 mile cool down I’m lacking in the speed department but it felt good to do a quicker workout. Maybe next time I’ll actually do it in flats, haha. Also, I’ve been trying to focus more on my recent improvements rather than compare myself so much to my teammates. It’s helped me to have a more positive mentality. I’m starting to close in on my high school fitness level, which is awesome. I’m not quite there yet but compared to a month or so ago I’m getting faster. Even looking at the miles we did this week, two were only 2-3 seconds slower than my fastest “race” this season and felt smooth and relaxed. |
