1 hour elliiptical

I figure I better do a serious taper from my intense training I did for this Saturday's half marathon.  After all I did run a whopping 28.9 miles over the last 3+ months in preparation, 10 of which I did 2 days ago.  I therefore have decided not to run the rest of this week in hopes that my leg will be ready to go 13.1 on Saturday.

My leg feels better this morning than it did last night.  I had been using my KT tape the past few days on it until yesterday and then I put it back on last night.  It really helps it feel better, which makes me wonder if the pain I'm getting is from soft tissue damage around the stress fracture, not the stress fracture itself.  I'd be good with that.  I really don't want any more bone issues.  It takes way too long to heal.

Officially I ran the Pocatello Half Marathon.  I don't even know what my time was though.  After the start of the half, I crossed the timing mat and walked out to the road where the marathoners were coming by.  Larry (Smooth's amazing husband) was there and I chatted with him for about 8 minutes when Doone came running by.  Off I went.  I asked Doone how she was doing and could tell she was working a bit hard to keep that pace up for the rest of the race, so I didn't push her, just tried to remain positive.

The first few miles my leg was a bit sore, but then I had no more pain for the rest of the race.  Teena helped my KT tape it up the night before.  She's good.  She's going to be the best PT ever.  You guys who live close to her and will be able to use her sevices are lucky.

Anyways it was a beautiful day for a run.  I had lots of fun and my leg doesn't seem any worse for having done it.  I think I'm going to take it really easy for another month and hope that I can put this injury completely behind me.

It was so much fun to see Smooth, Larry, Teena, and Kathie the night before the race and after the race.  You all are awesome!  Congrats on your great races.  I hope to see you all soon.
