About another hour on the bike. It was a bit warmer this morning and there was smoke in the air from a fire that was down in Parker (a town about 20 miles south of us).

What's up with your foot? Coyotes scare me!

Teena. I'm not sure exactly but it sure hurts. It is something in the ball of the foot that hurts and then radiates through the plantar fascia in the forefoot.

Thanks HBR. I hope it is just PF. I used to get PF many years ago but it was always along the arch and into my heal. I even got cortisone injections a few times for it. I didn't know you could get it in the ball of the foot. And you're right it feels like something is swollen up under the ball of my foot with each step.

Dang, I'm sorry! Any numbness, sharp shooting pain or tingling?
From Rhett on Fri, Apr 08, 2016 at 11:24:03 from 24.121.249.174
Teena, yeah that's the weird thing. Most of the pain seems to be in the ball of the foot when walking on it, but I get these random sharp shooting pains on the outside of my foot.

Look up metatarsalgia and see if it fits. I'd be happy to help you anyway I can via the inter-universe!! Ha! :-)

Doone has metatarsalgia so I know all about that. I guess it is possible but I'm not thinking that is it. I think HBR might be right. It may just be some weird form of PF that is causing pain in the forefoot instead of at the heel. Whatever it is, not running seems to be the only thing that really helps. Thanks for helping. Are you still a go for Mt. Charlseton?

Sharp shooting pains, tingling, etc. more likely has some nerve involvement. Morton's neuroma, metatarsalgia, etc. Let me know if you think of any other specific details.

Is there any treatment for those types of things other than rest. I have this thing called an inferno wrap that worked miracles when I had a heel spur that I've been doing. It shots some sort waves that heat up my foot. It's supposed to promote blood to the tendons.
