I met up with Doone at the end of her 22 miler a little later in the run than I thought, because she added a little detour into her run before our meet up point, so I did the last 6.4 miles with her.   It was fun running with my sweetie again.  I am amazed at the improvement she has made over the last couple months.  She must have a good coach. : )  She really is a natural runner, she just never knew it until she started doing it.  She has a very natural gait and the ability to just keep going even when she's tired.  I am planning on running the second half of Pocatello with her.  I just hope I can keep up with her.

My leg did not bother me at all when I ran and  does not hurt now the day after the run to walk around on.  I am not 100% though.  I am a bit concerned, because my leg is tender to the touch still at the point of the area where the stress fracture was.  Hopefully it isn't anything bad.  I will have to remain very conservative, so  I will keep my runs short and slow for a while still.

YAY NO PAIN running 6+ on the pavement!!

Yes, Doone is a natural runner...takes a GREAT coach to recognize one!

I am glad you had fun running together. You will have even greater joy running with her the last 1/2 at Pokey! Keep playing it safe! The tenderness is a good reminder! Have a wonderful week!

You are an awesome coach. Glad to hear the run was pain free. (Don't tell Doone, but I have a feeling she'll BQ on her first try)

So happy to hear you are running again!

Doone is going to do so well, I wouldn't spread the natural runner thing around you should take all the credit as her coach!

so far so good, Rhett - great news!

So fun to run with your adorable wife!

Be careful!

Ah, you are so sweet! I appreciate the compliment coach! My true dilemma comes after I finally finish my first marathon - do I take all the credit? or do I let my coach glory in the moment as well? I am going to make my decision after I see what time I get myself on race day!
