Completed a dozen marathons and a handful of 50 mile ultras.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Consistent aerobic and strength training.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Participate in 5k and 10k races.

Personal:

I started more dedicated running and racing in my thirties.  Eventually I developed symptomatic bradycardia and SVT which required a cardiac pacemaker implant and a cardiac cath ablation.  It has taken a long time to get back to running consistently again.  Counting my blessings and trying to remain more balanced with fitness.

8 + 2 mi - Morning and lunch combo.  A lot of interruptions in my running schedule these days.  Forced to do most activity in the early morning.  If it don't get done before 8am then it more than likely won't happen.

10 mi - Tried to push the pace more during last two miles.  My right arch continues to complain during these trips.

2 mi - Giving right foot/arch a break to catch up.  Did some cross training of sorts alternating steep walking and easy jogging on the TM.  Followed by strength training.

3.2 mi - Rode the indoor bike (9.6 mi) and then went to strength training.  Since I averaged around 20 mph on the bike, I used 3 as my divisor to estimate running miles.

9 mi - Before work all done easy, but not "really" easy.  These days I have about 5 levels of easy.  Super, very, moderately, really and then just plain easy.

4 mi - Spinned 12.5 mi during the lunch hour followed by some stretching.

Heading back to cardiologist tomorrow for a check-up.  Feels like I'm creeping towards getting a pacemaker.  My bradycardia is becoming more symptomatic as the years pass.

Rest day.  Had a follow-up appt. with Cardiologist today.  Resting heart rate has continued to fall over the past year even though my activity level has declined.  Discussed all of my other symptoms (constant fatigue, dizziness, palpitations, shortness of breath, etc.).  I was hoping it would get better but seems to be getting worse (not sure what normal feels like anymore).  I suppose I could just take the next 10 years off from vigorous exercise and see what happens, but as we age our heart rates continue to fall.  So decided it was time I go to an EP specialist to discuss implanting a pacemaker.  Owe it to the family to not mess around with it anymore.
