decided to try a tinman tempo type workout on the slushy roads. it turned out really well, felt strong and could have kept going at that pace. One mile warmup then an out and back throught the east bench neighborhood for 6 miles tempo. never checked my watch just ran on feel. mile splits: 6:26, 6:25, 6:25, 6:37, 6:36, 6:36 for 6:31 average. one mile cooldown.

I think there is actually a guy named tinman who coined it. just a tempo run that is supposed to be a sort of "easy" tempo, faster than marathon goal pace by maybe 15 seconds per mile or something.

Yes, I know the Wizard of Oz (almost by heart), but the tinman is no runner!!!
