I planned on 18 with Preston today. He wanted to run sub 7's and like just last week I figured I'd just hang in there until I was toast and then let him go. I did not prep well for the run, eating mexican food late last night and then only sleeping about 4-5 hours. Anyway, by mile 6 I was cramping up and at mile 7 my chicken fajita was threatening to exit in all directions. Lucky for me we hadn't strayed far from the neighborhood and I was close to home when I decided to call it quits. I'm not sure if I want to do another 10 later tonight to get in my "long" mileage for the day or just start over again in the morning... Next week's long workout will be a 21 mile day-hike through The Enchantments.

You are one speedy dude even with mexican in your belly! Great job even if you had to end early. The Enchantments looks cool.

i didn't get your message until after it was too late. 5am is way too early for me! I didn't even get out of bed until 7:30 that day, and I ran at 9:30. Of course, as the marathon approaches I will have to start getting used to running at 7am.

Wes - My digestive system was moving way faster than I was that day :) even on a good day I doubt I could have kept that up for 11 more miles. I am totally psyched about hiking the enchantments! I will post lots of pictures.

Scott - I figured it would be too late, but I wanted to let you know since you had asked about it before. I was not very good company anyway. Preston's 6:45ish pace was way beyond my conversational pace. I could only talk in 2 or 3 word spurts for the 6 miles I managed to keep up with him. What's on your schedule for this Friday?

From DLTheo on Fri, Sep 03, 2010 at 18:03:13 from 155.130.107.41

Sorry, meant to get back to you sooner. I took today off. Normally I run long on Saturdays, but the last few weeks my schedule has forced me to move them to Fridays.

From rAtTLeTrAp on Fri, Sep 03, 2010 at 18:25:58 from 72.102.132.103

DLTheo - Fridays are best for me, but Saturdays are doable if it means having company or not. Except for tomorrow, I'll be hiking/running a 21 miler in the Enchantments above Leavenworth.
