No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

10:00am Ezra 3 - Nehemiah 9

Yesterday's plan was to run 10 miles with even 7:10 splits. Instead, I slept in until 1:00pm, went out to Casa Mia for lunch with Kym where I ate the biggest Calzone on the planet and went back to bed for a 3 hour nap before Jake's open house at his school. Then I finished the night off with a giant bucket of popcorn before bed. Today's plan was to go 15 miles with 7:10 splits since I skipped yesterday. Yeah riiiight! I started out ok, but the wind was way to gusty to keep my pace as even as I wanted. I quickly abandoned that idea and decided to ignore my watch and just keep up a solid effort regardless of the wind direction. By mile 6 last night's popcorn was threatening to come back up and I revised my plan to 12 miles. When I finally got the the turn off for the lake I opted to skip that too and settled for 10. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow. I'm just happy I made it home without leaving yesterday's bad eating choices all over the sidewalk.

Now I'm off to go see cousin Tessa kick some butt at her Cross Country meet in Steilacoom Park!
